New SENDCO based in Wiltshire. Lots of enthusiasm, but not much experience - looking for help, advice and friendship from teachers and SEND colleagues.
@MsWarnersWorld About 10 years ago, suffering dizziness i went to the doctor and found that i had been quietly hyperventilating through stress.
Had no idea, the physical effect preceded the realisation I was stressed!
@bjpren Well done, that sounds very difficult.
The #SocialDistancing must have been hard too, not so much of an issue here in Wiltshire where (outside Swindon) daily infection rates are in the low single digits.
I think that may change when schools reopen, but hopefully not much.
@JamesMelville Maim problem seems to be for the police - the lowest rise by far.
25 years ago it was difficult to join (outside of the Met) but increasingly people don't see it as an attractive career - even with a looming recession.
Teacher applications are up however, which is good to see.
#sencochat#SENDvoices Morning all SEND related folks π
Has anyone got a good SENCO 'Year Planner' (primary emphasis) that they can recommend?
I want to plan better before #BackToSchool becomes a reality.
All help warmly appreciated.
Wellbeing wall which is going to be used for regular wellbeing check-ins throughout the next year. Their names are on pegs clipped around the plate. Visuals and colours linked as closely as poss to 5 point scale. Calming strategies are also close by to help if and when neededππ
If you are returning to work today please make sure youβre in a union. Make sure your employer has a health and safety assessment for your workplace and make sure social distancing can be enforced. Join a union, save lives. https://t.co/u4K686q8Z4
@ChrisCarey1973 @bjpren This is a concern - let's wait for the guidance though, could be 10 per room, half days etc. Am going to have a read and see what the French and Spanish have arranged, they're starting this week.
