The person carrying the work often knows which question keeps returning, which report nobody trusts and which decision arrives too late.
That is where I want to start a conversation about AI: with something they already wish was easier.
In our seminar, a changed vote was not proof that we had become wiser. People can agree and still be wrong.
What mattered to me was having room to listen, explain myself and decide whether my first answer still held.
When AI gives me an answer that sounds finished, I still have to check it.
What did it get right? What is missing? What changed after the next attempt?
Staying with those questions is part of the work.
I can explain an opinion aloud and discover it was thinner than it felt inside my head.
That university seminar gave us time to listen and decide again. Agreement was optional.
What makes it easier for you to reconsider a position?
I used to imagine a business almost ending at the bottle. Make the oil. Give it an Arab identity. Put it in good packaging.
Then every bottle created another question: cost, stock, production, payment, delivery.
Every simple thing was a chain of smaller things.
Someone told me the voice in an AI-generated Diggn’It ad did not sound good enough. They were right.
I learned a better way to edit it and rebuilt the audio.
The useful part was being willing to hear the problem after I had already posted the work.
Before asking AI to help with a business decision, I want to know where the information lives.
If the spreadsheet and the system disagree, which one should it trust?
That question needs a human answer before an automated one.
I went abroad to discover beard oil, then came home and realized how much knowledge had already been around me.
My new essay for @Khaleejesque is about the joke that named Diggn’It, oils from Al-Balad, and what my grandmother already knew.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed that first bottle of beard oil. The scent, the softness, the small act of taking care.
That feeling became part of Diggn’It.
What small ritual helps you feel more like yourself?
Working from another country depended on people doing physical work I could not do from a laptop.
Manufacturing. Packing. Shipping.
The freedom Diggn’It gave our family rested on that work. I try to remember who is carrying it.
The first time our system prepared a purchase-order draft, I opened it and checked why it wanted those items.
It had followed the chain from low stock to production to missing materials.
I still made the decision. I no longer had to hunt for all its pieces.
If the process lived in my head, everyone had to wait for me.
Building systems for Diggn’It meant making the work clear enough for someone else to carry: what to do, where the information lived and what happened next.
Running Diggn’It gave me the problems that made AI useful: expiring stock, scattered information and decisions arriving late.
Knowing what kept going wrong gave me somewhere to start.
What recurring problem would you want to see sooner?
In a university seminar, we voted before the discussion and again after everyone had spoken. Both tallies stayed on the board.
Changing your mind became something you could see happening.
How many rooms do we enter where changing a position feels safe?
Cash on delivery taught me that an order was only a maybe.
The phone made the Shopify cha-ching. We packed the parcel. Then the customer could refuse it.
The notification sounded like success. We still had to earn the sale.
A dashboard did not help us with expiring stock if nobody remembered to check it.
We had moved the information without solving the attention problem.
That changed what I wanted to build: a system that brought the decision to the person responsible.
People see the finished system and assume I knew how to build it from the start. Usually, I didn’t.
I tried something small, checked the result and stayed long enough to find the next clue.
