"All are equal before the law and are entitled, without any discrimination, to equal protection of the law."
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights enshrines that rights are for all people – no matter who you are or whom you love.

Former US President Barack Obama opened his presidential centre in Chicago, using the occasion to call for unity, urging Americans to reject division and invest in the next generation.
Former first lady Michelle Obama brought the crowd to its feet during the Obama Center's opening celebration.
She said she hopes the center “reignites the optimism and empathy and vision that’s always powered this country’s greatest change.” https://t.co/iYgIlVw9Yo
LGBTQ+ Equal Pay Day is a reminder: the wage gap doesn't happen by accident.
Equal pay means little if people can't access jobs, advance in their careers, or work free from discrimination. We need workplaces where everyone has a fair chance not just to survive, but to thrive.
Trump wants to put RFK Jr., the guy who said "autism destroys families" in charge of special education for K-12 students with disabilities—absolutely NOT.
Thank you to the Planned Parenthood Alliance advocates from WA who visited me in DC. We talked about ways to ensure that Planned Parenthood can continue to provide care for the tens of thousands of Washingtonians who count on their services.
A photo dump from a few days that reminded us of what people power looks like. 💜
Organizers. Storytellers. Advocates. Volunteers. Leaders.
Together, we're building the future we deserve—one conversation, one action, and one community at a time.
On #WorldOceansDay, we recognize that healthy oceans are essential to Washington’s economy and environment. I will continue fighting for investments and legislation to protect Puget Sound and our coasts.
ICYMI: On Saturday, @WAStateStandard reported on memo from @GovBobFerguson budget director warning another budget shortfall looms in 2027. It went to agency directors who are crafting budget request now. #waleg#waelex https://t.co/rTGD3ysXmd
I’ve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. It’s stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. I’ve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnn’s @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to “smile”, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say “No more.”
Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldn’t! And neither should any of us. It’s unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
It was a pleasure to be at Armoire yesterday with so many folks supporting women in the workplace who experience perimenopause and menopause symptoms. Thank you to everyone who does important work in this space, including our Women's Commission.
Game on: @letsgowa collecting sigs for IP26-645 to repeal WA's new income tax. It would still expand Working Families Tax Credit, halt sales tax on diapers, and end new sales tax on services, says @bkheywood. @washdems@GovBobFerguson#waelex https://t.co/TNxEcxmoJY
New: Rumors are true. Democratic @RepBerg is mounting a challenge to WA House Speaker Laurie Jinkins. Reps @LizBerryWA and @Darya4House may too. Internal vote is post-November election. Results could sway outcome. #waleg#waelex@wahousedems@WaHouseGOP

New: WA state has asked US Supreme to accept a challenge of the @waleg boundaries drawn by a federal judge, then send the case back to lower courts to determine if the political maps align with the Callais ruling. @AGOWA@GovBobFerguson@washdems@WAGOP https://t.co/Q0MHbDfChS
