@attachedstring@JoshEakle I could say Ed has allowed countless people and they more then pay back the government. Employers need an educated workforce. A flat or consumption tax alone helps the rich and hurts the poor. IF no HUD who addresses the failure of the market to address housing needs?
@coochyhatr@the_transit_guy I agree but you can't have developers who profit from new developments packing the metro planning commission. You also need to address crime otherwise you won't have people moving back down town. Wichita is THE tv market for the state so every jaywalking case is news.
@the_transit_guy Activists and academics can say no cars and mass transit for environmental reasons and overall efficient use of resources is best. But what do you do when cities were not built like European villages? Or you have people scattered in small towns or who do agriculture?
@WillFedder Why is adding more council members and ranked choice voting better? We can't get people to vote let alone be educated on who's running beyond party labels. Then we add ranked choice what? It sounds like a solution in search of a problem.
