@TheShirtUnion I can't be the only one who dislikes that Adidas seem to have taken over the entire market and are producing the same kind of shirt for every team ... Remember Kappa, Fila, Diadora, Umbro ... Why do we allow mono-/duopolies to form everywhere?
@henry_hill94 Honestly I think that's a bit backwards thinking. If you redistribute the wealth that football generates more evenly, you can have a fairer European Cup (CL) with more teams that could feasibly win it. Instead of sticking them together in a third tier competition.
@weare72cast@SophyRidgeSky@RidgeandFrost I don't get it either.
I assume the PL "protects" the likes of CFC and MC because they think these clubs make the competition appealing.
But for ... 95% (?) of football fans, what makes the competition appealing is ... actual competition, based on merits, between historical clubs
@UnionStGilloise 5 years! Crazy how evident it now seems to see Union at the top of the Pro League. It is in fact anything but evident ... Fantastic story! Everyone involved should be extremely proud. All the best from a KV Mechelen supporter.
@dqveed There is a benefit. Trust. Being able to trust each other was what used to bind human beings together. But forces that have accumulated too much power (in the fictional form of money) are working hard to erode all trust between humans, and make all interactions transactional.
@bluemaccaEFC I dream of this.
A rival to the FIFAscists, where clubs are non-profit, represent the local community and everything is done in a sporting fashion. Winning is a mere byproduct of sharing the beautiful game with someone.
