Last night, ABC Four Corners used Veteran Games footage completely out of context, while omitting the positive facts we provided about our purpose, impact & sponsors. We’ve now lodged a formal complaint with the ABC Ombudsman. Accuracy. Context. Fairness. #NotMyABC#Media

KINGS BIRTHDAY LONG WEEKEND
28/9/2026
Perth could not have provided a better day for the shalom men’s program to enjoy the pubic holiday at Whiteman park mid 20s and sunny.
It was on for young and old residents with some pretty serious games of cricket, football and touch football, some trying to relive there hay days but coming off second best to some of the young guys.
The men from the big house took the opportunity to get in some extra cardio by running a group training session. The groups grew throughout the day as the boys come together as we do here in shalom interacting with people we wouldn’t have usually had conversations with.
Some fellas chose a more relaxing approach bringing food for bbq, going to cafe while enjoying some worship music live from one of the residents on guitar. There was also some time for some testimony from stage 4 residents which was an encouragement for the new guys to hear and goes a long way to keeping new people in the program.
Shalom House, “Leading the way in Australia in Holistic Rehabilitation, Reintegration & Re-Socialisation”.
It's official.
This current Labor government, made up of career politicians, none of which have ever filled out payroll tax, are the highest taxing government Australia has ever had.
Combine that with the ever increasing interest rates and the highest inflation in the world apart from Iceland and you've got a catastrophic event of financial ruin.
THE POLICE NEED A WARRANT TO USE A FAKE IDENTITY. THE ESAFETY COMMISSIONER WOULD NOT.
There is a draft law out for consultation that would let a government regulator operate under false identities online, generate material using artificial intelligence, and be immune from being sued for it. Here is what it actually says, because most of what you have read about it is wrong in both directions.
It is not a Bill. It is an exposure draft, the Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026, released on 8 September with an 18-day consultation and no explanatory memorandum. It has not been introduced. Five of its own summary sections read "to be drafted".
It does not authorise bot networks or influence operations. Read the text and the word network is not there. Fake accounts may engage with users only as far as needed to stop the account being closed.
Now what it does say.
Section 205J. The Commissioner may assume a sock puppet identity for the purposes of performing the Commissioner's functions.
Section 205K(2). That includes generating material using an online service, including by means of artificial intelligence, so long as the material is not itself an offence.
Sections 205H(2) and 205J(2). This has effect despite anything to the contrary in any other law, written or unwritten, of the Commonwealth, a State or a Territory, and despite any agreement, contract or policy.
Section 205L. No civil liability for anything done in good faith.
Compare the police. Under Part IAC of the Crimes Act, an assumed identity needs authority from the head of the agency, review every twelve months, an audit, and an annual report tabled in Parliament. Border Force granted ten last year and reported the number.
The draft gives a civil regulator the same capability, adds AI content generation, overrides every other law, and attaches no authorisation step, no register, and no report to anyone.
One more thing. The university researchers who get the same false-identity power must be approved under rules the Minister writes, doing research the Minister prescribes as being in the public interest.
The steelman is real. Platforms shut down research accounts. Testing whether an age gate works means pretending to be someone. The review that recommended this reported in February 2025 and the government said yes in April. Nothing was hidden.
Sit with the comparison anyway. The people we let carry guns need a signed authority and a tabled report to use a false name. The people we let regulate speech would need neither.

SORRY IF THIS OFFENDS SELF-CHECKOUT WORKERS, BUT I'M DONE...
I just scanned $140 worth of my own groceries, bagged them myself, and weighed my own produce.
Then the machine asked if I wanted to donate $2 to "help end hunger."
ABSOLUTELY NOT.
You eliminated 4 cashier jobs to boost corporate profit margins, made me do all the manual labor for free, and then asked ME for a tax write-off donation?

REAL-TIME ADDICTION ADVICE — 24/7
If you are trying to help someone struggling with addiction and you’re constantly asking yourself, “What do I do now?” — I built this app for you.
It is designed for families, individuals, counsellors, rehabilitation services and organisations working with people affected by addiction.
I have put an enormous amount of work into developing it and training it around my addiction methodology, experience and approach.
You can explain what is happening in real time — what the person is doing, what they are saying, where they are in their addiction journey and what you are dealing with — and the app will guide you through what to consider and what to do next.
And sometimes that advice will not be what you want to hear.
It will tell you what you need to hear.
The app remembers the context of your conversations, so you can come back and continue rather than having to explain the entire situation again every time.
For professionals and organisations, it can also become a practical support tool for staff dealing with difficult addiction situations where they may be unsure of the appropriate next step.
There are subscription options for individual users as well as workplaces and organisations with multiple staff.
The app can be customised to your organisation and your branding.
I genuinely believe this fills a gap.
Families dealing with addiction are often frightened, exhausted and completely unsure what to do. Professionals can also encounter situations where another perspective or structured guidance is valuable.
That is exactly why I built it.
If you are helping someone affected by addiction, give it a try.

This app provides addiction guidance and educational support. It does not replace qualified medical care, professional clinical judgment or emergency services.
Nine dumped Karl for talking to Tommy Robinson.
Weeks later they platform a KKK Grand Wizard to smear Hanson.
Robinson = unforgivable.
Actual Klan = “exclusive” content.
One “racist” gets you sacked.
The other gets you an “exclusive”.
Only if the target is One Nation.
The hypocrisy isn’t even trying to hide anymore.
THE POWERS THEY HAVE AND DON'T USE
The usual complaint about regulation is that there isn't enough of it. Here's a different problem.
The Treasurer can declare a digital platform a designated platform under the News Media Bargaining Code. Designation makes payment compulsory. Since March 2021, no platform has ever been designated.
In December 2023 the government announced the ACCC would be given compulsory information-gathering powers to scrutinise the commercial deals between platforms and news businesses. I have read Part IVBA of the Competition and Consumer Act. Eleven divisions, every section.
Those powers are not in it.
In 2020 the Auditor-General recommended the AEC use a more graduated system of consequences for donors who don't comply, including criminal prosecution where warranted.
The AEC rejected the recommendation outright. Every other recommendation in that audit was accepted with qualifications.
That one was refused.
In 2024-25, eleven Commonwealth entities reported breaches of section 83 of the Constitution, which says no money shall be drawn from the Treasury except under appropriation made by law. The year before, ten. Each disclosed it in its own annual report, in a paragraph.
That is the entire consequence.
In 2012-13 the Auditor-General found royalty money owed to traditional owners was not being distributed within the six months the law requires. The finding is still open. Thirteen years. The consequence is that it gets written down again each year.
None of this is a failure to legislate. The powers exist. Parliament passed them.
The honest argument on the other side is that a regulator which never uses its strongest power may be succeeding, because the threat is doing the work. That's true of the designation power, and more than two hundred million dollars a year moved without it ever being used.
But a threat nobody has ever carried out, with no published criteria for when it would be, is not a power. It's a posture.

HOW TO BUILD A REHAB
People often ask me how we built a rehabilitation program.
The buildings are the easy part.
Building a program that can take somebody whose life has been consumed by addiction and help them rebuild their entire life is something completely different.
How to Build a Rehab is about what I have learned from actually doing it.
A rehabilitation program cannot simply be about getting someone off drugs. If the drugs disappear but nothing underneath changes, what happens when that person walks back into the real world?
Rehabilitation needs to deal with the whole person.
Their thinking. Their behaviour. Their relationships. Their responsibilities. Their work ethic. Their finances. Their ability to communicate. Their family. Their consequences. Their social skills. Their self-worth. And ultimately, their ability to stand on their own two feet again.
This book explains the practical principles and structures I believe are required to build a rehabilitation program around long-term change rather than short-term abstinence.
It also deals with something many people underestimate.
You aren’t just building a rehab. You’re building a culture.
The environment, expectations, boundaries, accountability and people surrounding someone every day all matter.
After building Shalom House and spending years working directly with people trapped in addiction, I have learned plenty — including things I would do differently if I were starting again tomorrow.
How to Build a Rehab puts those lessons together.
Because ultimately, the measure of rehabilitation isn’t simply whether somebody can remain drug-free inside a controlled environment.
It’s whether they can build a life outside it that they no longer need to escape from.

A NEW SEASON SPRUNG UPON US WITH SPRING IN THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT
Spring has arrived and with it comes the sneezing, itchy eyes & runny noses. Many of our residents know this all too well. Hay fever has definitely made an appearance over the last week, keeping the Medical Department on our toes with doctor appointments & hay fever injections being organised.
While the pollen is doing its thing, the Medical Team has continued doing ours. From everyday appointments to unexpected emergencies and quick response situations, the team has worked together to make sure our residents are cared for and supported every step of the way.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication, teamwork and commitment shown by our Medical Department. No matter what the day brings the focus remains the same, caring for our residents when they need it the most.

I ONLY POST FACTS, IF I AM WRONG CORRECT ME
I want to be honest about why I've been posting all this, because I think people assume a motive I don't have.
I'm not building an audience. I'm not running for anything. I don't have an axe to grind with any party, and I've scrutinised my own side as hard as anyone else's.
I started because I couldn't understand something simple.
This country is around a trillion dollars in debt. Services are stretched. People I know work full time and can't get ahead. And meanwhile the arrangements that decide where public money goes seem to work perfectly well for the people who designed them.
I wanted to know why. So I stopped reading opinions about it and went to the records. The Electoral Act. The AEC's raw returns, twenty-seven years of them. Auditor-General reports. Treasury reviews. Hansard.
Everything I've posted came out of those documents. Not one of them is hidden. Anyone can read every single source I've cited.
And here's the thing I keep running into.
If what I'm posting is wrong, tell me and I'll fix it. I've had to do that seven times now. I've published every one of those corrections rather than quietly editing the post, because if I'm asking politicians to be accountable I don't get to skip it myself.
But when it's right, it just sits there.
I used to think that meant someone was suppressing it. I don't think that any more. I think the honest answer is duller and worse. A fact that has been quietly true for forty years isn't news, because news is made of things that happen. Nobody has to block a story about a section of an Act that has never changed. It simply never gets written.
So the mechanism that would have caught any of this doesn't exist, which is the same finding as everything else I've published.
I don't want anyone to take my word for anything. I'd rather you checked me.
But if you've read a few of these and thought that doesn't seem right, that thought on its own changes nothing. It has to leave your head. Ask your local member one question and tell people what they said. That's the whole ask.
Speaking up costs something. I know that better than most. Staying quiet costs something too. It just doesn't send you a bill.
