You hear a lot about these modern-day tactical masterminds who constantly tinker with fields and micromanage every single delivery, but Rajat's approach to captaincy is entirely different-it's all about that quiet, unshakable aura he carries on the field.

He isn't a captain who is going to panic when a couple of overs go for big runs, and you'll never see him screaming across the boundary line or waving his arms around frantically. Instead, he just has this incredible way of simplifying the entire game. Before we even step onto the park, he gives you absolute clarity regarding your specific role, and once you cross that rope, he completely backs you to execute it your own way.

I remember a specific match where the opposition openers were absolutely flying in the powerplay, and the game felt like it was slipping away from us very quickly. In a situation like that, most
captains would call a chaotic mid-over team meeting, bring everyone in, and start changing the plans out of desperation. Rajat didn't do any of that. He just casually walked up to me at cover, told me to forget about the scoreboard, trust the instincts that got me here, and then just walked back to his position with a smile.

That kind of immense, calm confidence is highly contagious, and it immediately rubs off on the entire bowling unit and the fielders. He understands that at this level, players already know how to bowl and bat; they just need a leader who won't suffocate them with data or second-guess their decisions. He doesn't feel the need to overcomplicate the game or make tactical changes just for the sake of looking busy on television. He trusts his players implicitly, and that freedom is exactly why everyone in this dressing room is willing to run through a brick wall for him.
