Vincent Kompany: Not one Burnley fan would be daft enough to think any Clarets manager would ever turn down a chance to coach a club like Bayern Munich. What I think sticks in the craw for the supporters is that the club invested unprecedented money in players chosen by Kompany who failed to get even close to delivering on expectations of survival in the Premier League - and then he walks. And there were strong suggestions he would have walked for a much lesser opportunity too. The club is now left in the Championship with a huge bloated squad mostly of his signings. The fans stood by their manager - despite dismal performances and bizarre decisions, there was never a single chant of 'Kompany Out' at Turf Moor this season. The club's owners were never going to sack him in any case. They appeared to give him everything he wanted and believed there was a shared 'project'. They must feel they have been played. Football is a cold business.

This man is superhuman, simply amazing that he's still doing this at 80 years old.
