Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, needs to publicly apologize for hosting this content and tell us what he is going to do to remove games that promote rape culture.
Thank you to @Google and @googleplay for removing the game!
What is the plan for monitoring for inappropriate content moving forward?
Will you be donating all your profits from the game to a charity for victims of sexual assault / domestic violence?
@adsliason
@Reuters .@Facebook aren't alone in their abhorrent business practices. @sundarpichai and @googleplay likely made a bunch of money on a game that promotes sexual assault. They refuse to own up to it. They removed the game after I brought attention. But there are more games just like it.
I am thrilled to have seen @Google remove the most egregious game, developer, and ads I have seen on its platform.
However, they have yet to apologize or take meaningful steps to address similar content on @GooglePlay store.
Thusly, I will be filing my formal @FTC complaint.
@tschoggee @TizzyEnt It's no longer there because of the pressure we put on them. I am proud to have helped get it removed, but I have lingering questions and concerns.
@TheBenSalem@Google@sundarpichai@GooglePlay@FTC@amyklobuchar@RepSchakowsky It does appear to be gone, and they supposedly pulled the ad. I'm still unsure what consequences the developer faces and how @Google will monitor/respond to violations in the future... I messaged them yesterday with some ideas of how to make amends, but haven't heard back yet.
@FTC Question for the @FTC: Would pushing advertisements for a mobile phone game that glorifies and promotes sexual assault count as the sort of bad business practices the FTC looks into? Or is this more of an @FCC thing?

@maddow .@maddow, did you see this other issue @google has going on? They are promoting sexual assault in their advertisements.

@amyklobuchar Hello Senator @amyklobuchar, given that you are on the subcommittee for Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, I was hoping you might be able to help me with an issue I am having. Please check my Twitter page for some of the details and feel free to DM me.
.#Google should apologize for hosting the app, for not responding to complaints and reports about it, and agree to revise section 8.3 of the developer agreement such that they agree to monitor the content of the applications and advertisements they push to our phones.
@GooglePlay Still waiting for your reply to my many messages and for you to take the rape game off the play store. #GoogleRapeCulture
I will not stop bringing awareness to this until you respond and deal with all this.

@rebecca_ryder21 @Hoodoo_Harry I am the person who took this screen recording and started this campaign to remove the game and change section 8.3 of the developer agreement. I'd love to know what your petition says, but I'm not a UK citizen so I can't go in to read it.
