@ChinaAnalyzer @chinafan8 @DevEnvChina This is still problematic because it stimulates the fur market and encourages poachers to hide

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

@DevEnvChina focus of this story seems to be the experience of #mountainpatrol and pathos for the issue, rather than the larger structure

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

@DevEnvChina it makes very little sense that the #mountainpatrol can use guns, but not arrest poachers.

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

#mountainpatrol @DevEnvChina The film style contains very little narration, allowing the reader to form their own thoughts on what they see

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

#mountainpatrol @DevEnvChina Question: how does the patrol support and fund itself?

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

@dartalan19 @DevEnvChina What message is he trying to sell? Is it just "Pollution is bad" or is there more? #manufacturedlandscapes

[Sharon Bian @theSeusChef]

@DevEnvChina #manufactoredlandscapes simple shots, pensive music, no fancy cuts, little voiceover; director wants us to just observe & think

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

#manufacturedlandscapes Consistent motif: honing in on the details of an activity (mining/factory work) then zooming out to show the scale.

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

#manufacturedlandscapes the style of directing in this documentary views like a blockbuster movie #starwars

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

@Ermides19 #manufacturedlandscapes What exact phrases in the reprimand gave you that paternalistic vibe?

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

#manufacturedlandscapes How did China build expertise at managing large factories? Who are the execs and strategy leaders that planned it?

[Waweru Kirumba @wtkirumba]

#heavymetalfilm @devenvchina Having subtitles rather than voice-over translation gives the interviews a different tone from earlier docume..

[Jack Davidson @ChinaAnalyzer]

@DevEnvChina odd that the social safety net in China is still family and not government run #heavymetalfilm
