I’m not buying the argument that Justin Kirkland’s simulated “hut” caused Notre Dame’s fumbled exchange.

Watch CJ Carr’s body language. He appears to say “hut,” his head moves forward, and the center snaps the ball. That looks like a quarterback expecting the snap.

To me, this looks like a mishandled exchange. Moisture on the ball could have contributed, but the video alone can’t establish that. Lavell's house in October/November tends to create a slippery/wet dewey surface especially at night.. That looks like a slippery ball to me slipping through those moderately sized 9.5 inch hands of CJ Carr..

What in this clip shows Carr wasn’t ready for the snap?
