Andy Burnham wants to tax you TWICE. Once for LIVING. Once for DYING.
The Telegraph revealed it. A new tax on your INCOME while you're alive, to fund care and a flat 10% levy on your ESTATE when you die.
Taxed earning it. Taxed leaving it. Coming and going.
The death tax hits the families who pay NOTHING now.
Today you get up to £500,000 TAX FREE before inheritance tax bites. A million for a couple. Only 1 in 25 estates pays a penny. Burnham scraps that. A flat 10% on ALL estates. No threshold.
Watch what it does.
A £300,000 terrace. Today ZERO. Under Burnham, £30,000.
The £500,000 family home. Today ZERO. Under Burnham, £50,000.
A couple's £1,000,000 estate. Today often ZERO. Under Burnham, £100,000.
Families who've NEVER paid a penny, landed with tens of thousands. For leaving their kids the family home.
The truly rich? They pay 40% now, with the accountants and trusts to dodge it. A flat 10% SPARES them the top rate. It's the widow's terrace that gets caught.
The rich don't pay it. The ORDINARY FAMILY does.
Here’s what they're praying you don't work out. It punishes you for SAVING. Have more than £23,250 and you pay for ALL your own care until you're drained to the bone. Have nothing, and it's free. Now add the death tax, and the one who worked and saved pays TWICE, care in life, estate in death. The one who saved nothing pays NEITHER. Same care. Opposite bill. This isn't a tax on wealth. It's a tax on THRIFT.
Now where does the money GO? Britain's care homes are largely for-profit, many owned OVERSEAS, some by HEDGE FUNDS. You'd be taxing a dead pensioner's home to pad a fund in another country.
The price tag? Nobody knows. Scotland's National Care Service costs were slammed as massively understated. A blank cheque. And 10% is only ever the STARTING rate. It climbs as the bill climbs.
Which is the real question. WHY is there a hole at all? You paid NATIONAL INSURANCE your whole life for this. In 2021 they added ANOTHER care levy, then scrapped it within a year. The money vanished. So now they want a THIRD bite. Off your wages AND off your grave.
It’s not new. The same DEATH TAX
Burnham tried in 2009, so toxic it helped SINK Labour. Theresa May's DEMENTIA TAX of 2017 that destroyed HER. Twice it's blown up. Here it comes a third time, same man, and asked to rule it out, he wouldn't.
They didn't lose the money for your care. They spent it. Now they're back at the graveside, palm out, asking your grieving kids to cover it.
Taxed when you earn it. Taxed when you need care. Taxed when you die and dare to leave something behind.
Blink, and the only thing they haven't taxed is the coffin. Give them time.
What, exactly, was National Insurance ever FOR?
Because a government that can't fund care from a lifetime of it, but can build a machine to tax your corpse, hasn't run out of money.
It's run out of shame.
A staggering £10,300,000,000 has been spent on migrant accommodation between 2021 and 2025 alone.
This money could have bought over 340 dedicated Channel patrol vessels, or replaced the entire current Border Force fleet 34 times over.
They thought NO ONE was filming.
Four government ministers, paid by YOU to protect you, huddled together and LAUGHING about letting criminals back onto your streets.
Wes Streeting. Shabana Mahmood. Yvette Cooper. Alex Norris, the brand new JUSTICE SECRETARY.
"He wants to let them all out." Then they LAUGH.
So, Letting criminals back onto your streets is the PUNCHLINE. The joke. The thing that gets a chuckle between mates before they move on to chatting about their swearing-in ceremonies.
Not the VICTIMS. Not the families. Not the people who'll live next door to whoever "them" turns out to be.
Just a laugh, shared quietly, when they thought nobody was listening.
This is who they are when they think the cameras are off. Relaxed. Matey. AMUSED. Handling your safety like it's the setup to a joke.
SHAME on you. All of you. Families are burying people. Women are checking over their shoulders walking home in the dark. And you're stood in a huddle LAUGHING.
It's DISGUSTING. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Remember it. Because this is the version they never meant for you to SEE.
@cabinetofficeuk Why are you proud of this? Or is this all part of the humiliation ritual you're putting the natives through?
We have to pay for everyone else, whilst we suffer and get replaced?
@tag4UK What have any of the parties offered us in the past 20 years? None of them are here to help us. The quicker you lot realise this then the quicker we can get together and do something about it
The Islamic regime in Iran has launched terrorist attacks against civilians and civilian sites in Bahrain and Oman. NATO and the EU must stop hiding behind statements and confront this evil before it spreads further. As for the UK, there is little hope from a government that appears closer to Tehran than to its own people.
Meet the real Ed Davey
Ed Davey earned £833 an hour – over £220,000 in total – advising lawyers representing the Post Office. This involved taking taxpayers’ money to persecute terrified and innocent people.
NEW🚨: David Lammy (UK Labour MP and current Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Secretary.
In 2022, while serving as shadow foreign secretary, he was investigated by the PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSIONER FOR STANDARDS
(Kathryn Stone) and found to have breached the MPs’ Code of Conduct.
He failed to register 16 interests (including earnings, gifts, benefits, and hospitality) within the required 28-day period. These were valued at over £35,000 in total.
Examples included payments for speeches (e.g., one in the US about the invasion of Ukraine and another from the Canary Wharf Group worth £3,280), tickets to American football and boxing matches, and other hospitality this was from tax payers money.
The commissioner concluded there was no deliberate intention to MISLEAD, but still ruled it a breach of the rules. No further sanctions were applied beyond the finding and apology had to be issued by him.
BREAKING 🚨: It has been widely reported that Safwan Adam, one of the Liberal Democrats’ largest donors, was a co-owner of Stay Belvedere Hotels.
The company held Home Office contracts to manage asylum accommodation and reportedly generated substantial profits. It was later removed from the asylum accommodation supply chain due to performance concerns.
The same reports state that more than £750,000 was donated to the Liberal Democrats over the course of the year.
