So I'm all done with the 30 hours for the semester. Learned a lot from my mentor teacher, who along with the students, reinforced my goal of teaching high school. #EDU310
Began a project on business ownership with the students today for my final observation! They are creating businesses from scratch and business plans for them. The businesses they felt needed to be created were hilarious.
Had my first observation last Thursday and it went well! Started crafting the lesson for my second one and am prepared to be less married to the board when it's showtime! #EDU310
@MsW_Elementary The imposter syndrome is real during placements! I definitely struggle with feeling comfortable leading a class until I am more familiar with the students over time.
I have to reschedule my observation due to the ACT being retaken during my scheduled date because of snow days. But last Thursday I introduced the students to the Law of Supply before their snow day on Friday. Enjoying getting to meet them all so far! #EDU310
I'm excited to see if there will be a noticeable increase in effort by the students tomorrow following their parent-teacher conferences last week! #EDU310
@MrGuyonsHistory There is a big difference for sure. Jumped from high to middle this semester and the high school students carry a very different energy about them.
The students learned about supply elasticity in economics! Was able to help some students with understanding the math behind the concept. Was also told I had bad coffee breath. Tough crowd.
Had my first day at my placement this morning! Little did I know that my mentor teacher and the students already looked me up on Facebook last week so they demanded I show them my tattoo. Excited to get to know them over the semester. #EDU310
