Read this powerful statement about leadership. You are a leader if you are influencing anyone. God help me to always be a leader like this. Jesus was. https://t.co/Mqkv3Q7C8D
I believe in lifelong learning and continual growth. Intellectually, socially, relationally, and - most important- spiritually. Today I wrote this: leadership development for spiritual leaders is grounded in divine transformation- our response to God’s proximity.
Leadership isn’t about having a powerful position. Anytime you use your influence to affect the thoughts and actions of others, you engage in leadership. (Ken Blanchard - The heart of a leader)
Generous hospitality is right at the heart of what it means to be a Christian. I don’t get to choose my neighbour, but I do get to choose how I treat them. Jesus calls me (us) to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
One in five Canadians will experience a mental illness in their lifetime, and about 6.7 million of us are living with it right now.
At The Salvation Army, we believe education and kindness can make a huge difference to those struggling.

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—a time to remember the tragedies Indigenous Peoples have suffered in the past and present.
At The Salvation Army in Canada, we are committed to a journey of learning, listening and building relationships.

Today we got a glimpse of The Salvation Army’s presence in downtown Vancouver. Sharing Jesus love with kindness and compassion through food sharing, housing support, addictions treatment, safe spaces, emergency shelter, and more - serving others with dignity and grace.
My view this morning. Brilliant sunrise over the city. I worship the Creator. Every 24 hrs God gives us a fresh slate - to be kind to others and myself, to forgive as we are forgiven, to love unconditionally, to grow and learn. What will I do with this day?
The words ‘when I am weak, then I am strong’ may not be promoted much. Yet, many of us have found it to be true. It speaks of an ‘Other-dependent’, not a ‘self-dependent’ way of life, a lifelong journey of finding strength in the source of our being. https://t.co/F6eKEhndY7
I have long believed that the character of a leader surpasses competency. Skills can be learned and sharpened with experience. Character is cultivated with intentional attention to our inner being. https://t.co/KjXodnczS5
One of our goals in this season is more outdoor activity. Love walking through Edwards Gardens and towards Sunnybrook Park this week. Creation speaks its own evidence of an Almighty God. (And the walking is good body care too.)
Lent is a time for deeper repentance. Phil Needham’s reflections challenge me. Where am I experiencing an ‘upheaval of my heart’? How do I ‘give myself away for the salvation of others’? How do I live differently in the world? https://t.co/gw7DEtLrfZ
