West Virginia Sheriffs are also proud to join @NationalSheriff and our colleagues across the U.S. in this effort as the flag makes its way toward the Mountain State.
The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) is proud to participate in @America250's Flag Sojourn 250, which is a special program that is taking a single American flag to every U.S. state, every U.S. territory, and every U.S. military cemetery overseas. The journey will wrap up as it touches the states of the 13 original colonies — and concludes in Washington, D.C.
Our flag officially began its state-to-state route on Veterans Day, when we commemorated the launch with a flag handoff ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. We were honored to take part in this ceremony on such a historic day.
We were also joined by America250’s Commissioner Reginald Browne, along with representatives from the American Battle Monuments Commission, the National Flag Foundation, and UPS - all who play instrumental roles in the flag's journey.

We were honored to have lunch with the Senior Senator from the 7th, Rupie Phillips, who cooked and served over 13.5 lbs of lunch meat for friends and constituents. We were able to break bread with many friends under the dome today.
Great to see members of @WVSheriffs today and discuss the top issues that are impacting their home counties.
Thank you for risking your lives every day to protect West Virginians— today and always, I stand ready to work with you.
Great to meet with @WVSheriffs this afternoon! We discussed several of their priorities, including the impact our wide open border had on local crime rates & mitigating the impact of the opioid crisis.
I'm proud to support our local law enforcement here in Congress!
Today and every day, we remember the thousands of innocent lives taken on September 11, 2001. We honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran towards danger without hesitation, and we extend our deepest gratitude to those who continue to serve and protect our communities with unwavering dedication. Your bravery will never be forgotten. #neverforget #911Remembrance
