We at @ConsumerReports have identified nearly 400 glass-shattering incident reports involving range ovens. We're calling on @USCPSC to investigate potential safety defects & urging manufacturers to tell customers what steps they’re taking to make it right. https://t.co/67n0isKCfl
@ConsumerReports evaluated @amazon, @Target, @shoptemu, & @Walmart's marketplaces to see whether parents could easily identify potentially unsafe baby products, find out who is selling them, and access safety & recall information. The results are in ⬇️ https://t.co/AgfzDsRO1U
CR proudly endorses the SAFE Exit Act by @RepRobinKelly. “Fortunately, this problem has a solution: Every car should be required to have intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-find manual releases that work even when power fails.” –Cooper Lohr @ConsumerReports https://t.co/9FVVdfnIrE
New from @ConsumerReports: Statement on @NHTSAgov's recent unveiling of design details for a first-of-its-kind advanced female dummy. This new dummy for frontal crash tests represents a fundamental step toward addressing a long-standing safety disparity. https://t.co/8CyBVNGXxh
Good to see @USCPSC working hard to help families stay safe during the federal shutdown and as the government reopened. We appreciate @FeldmanCPSC’s commitment to safety recalls for hazardous products and public warnings when a company isn’t taking action fast enough.
Who knew* I had 5k words in me about:
-The hallucinatory pain of new-parent sleep-deprivation
-Weirdo slop product listings
-Contradictory ChatGPT advice
-Fuzzy accountability in IG & TikTok shopping
-Funding cuts to public health

Our Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is in danger!
The White House is floating a plan to eliminate the CPSC, an agency that finds hazardous or poorly designed products to warn consumers, get them off the market, and push for safer products. https://t.co/K6UUS73x4L
The CPSC was created by Congress and answers to Congress. Congress answers to YOU! Call your Senators and Representative today and tell them we need the CPSC to remain an independent, bipartisan agency. The safety of products in your home and your child's life depend on it.
"This is an appalling and lawless attack on the independence of our country’s product safety watchdog. Anyone who cares about keeping their family safe should oppose this move and demand that it be reversed." @CRAdvocacy via @thehill https://t.co/KCY7lF8XuI
"Consumer Reports today condemned the illegal firing of agency leaders at the independent Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), as announced by the Commissioners themselves. The three leaders—CPSC Commissioners Alex Hoehn-Saric, Rich Trumka, Jr., and Mary Boyle—have a proven track record of putting consumers’ safety first in a rapidly evolving marketplace. CR demands that the purported firings be reversed immediately, and that Congress support these Commissioners in keeping their lawfully held roles." @CRAdvocacy

CR condemns the unlawful removal of @USCPSC leaders. It demolishes the agency’s role as an independent, bipartisan, data-driven safety watchdog. Consumers will be at greater risk from unsafe products if the move is not reversed. https://t.co/7iv9GrIo5U
I'm continuing to report on the firings of Democratic leaders and other ongoing staff cuts at the @USCPSC. I can be reached securely via [email protected] or on Signal at @Lkirchner.44.
We are proud to join @NCLC4consumers, @ConsumerReports & 156 other #ProductSafety advocates in sending a letter to Russell Vought expressing our strong opposition to any attempt to eliminate, defund, or weaken the #CPSC

Starting this week, all infant support cushions manufactured after May 5, 2025, must meet a new federal standard enforced by the @USCPSC. https://t.co/Ox2KizeoeG
Did you know a CPSC product warning isn’t less serious just because it’s not a recall?
May the 4th be with you & keep those littles sleeping safely❤️

This is alarming. The @NTSB is vital to public safety and a member may be removed only for "inefficiency, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office." If the president can fire members arbitrarily, that puts the independence of NTSB investigations & recommendations at severe risk.
The White House on Monday removed the vice chair of the National Transportation Safety Board, the latest in a series of dismissals by President Donald Trump from independent U.S. government agencies. https://t.co/HdntX9a9z0
@ConsumerReports calls on companies to immediately make clear which loungers meet the new standard and which ones don't. And @USCPSC should have the resources and independence it needs to enforce this rule and be a strong safety watchdog for the public. https://t.co/MLp2doVJgp
Infant loungers are not safe for sleep, but if a parent does mistakenly allow their baby to sleep in one, that shouldn’t come with a risk of death. This new safety standard is a helpful backstop for sleep-deprived parents of young infants. @CRAdvocacy https://t.co/MLp2doVJgp
