My 2nd best tip for new teachers (which I stole): talk to kids about "money in the bank." You get lots of mileage from this one phrase that shows doing the right thing does pay off. They build that bank balance! And breaking the rules means a withdrawal - not worth it. ;)

My #1 "Real Teacher Tip" for new teachers is always a 2-word sentence a veteran teacher told me: "They're seven." When I would worry about "getting through" the curriculum or a failed lesson, she would remind me: stop stressing, just love them & be there for them; they're seven.
