@jer_z_man @mmpadellan That's the only way citizens directly use democracy, but the people in government vote democraticly quite a lot. In both chambers of Congress and on boards or committees, even courts. Democraticly electected representatives representing democraticly = Democratic Republic.

Yes people escaped communism when they fled eastern Germany and North Korea but I don't recall hearing about people fleeing socialist scandanavia recently. Do you use public roads or rely on either the police or fire department?
