I would argue that he doesn't see the value of the website as much as you have estimated. You are the one who is seeing the efforts you put in.
He could easily assume that he was making all the good money even before you built the website.
As a principle, I have decided to only sell my product and services to ONLY people who needs it. People and businesses who my service and product solves a problem for.
My hard work is finding those people.
