Broader studies looking at Europe — where most carbon taxes are — analyzed 30 years of data across dozens of countries and found no negative effects on GDP growth or total employment.

Some even saw modest positive effects. The impacts are small — often less than 0.1% drag on annual growth — especially when the revenue is used smartly, like cutting other taxes.
Economies are huge and resilient; a well-designed carbon tax is just one small factor among many. The countries with carbon taxes aren't economic basket cases — many are among the world's strongest performers.
