Each year around #RemembranceDay, we reflect on the poem In Flanders Fields by Canadian soldier John McCrae. Memorials across Canada honour the soldiers who inspired it, and the red poppy remains a powerful symbol of remembrance. Why do you wear your poppy? ๐จ
@Samwright565026@babsxVR@UpdateNews724 You do realize Canada and America are partied to the same treaty rightโฆ? If we had a civil war, the aggressor would have to be take for example Alberta which would trigger Article 5 meaning America helps Canadaโฆ
@TenderJoel @babsxVR@UpdateNews724 Iโm aware, that was my point Quebec tried and it failed. If any separation was ACTUALLY gonna happen itโs gonna be them long before Alberta
@JasonLaPlante5@babsxVR@UpdateNews724 Iโm not playing devils advocate, I completely think Alberta has valid concerns with Ottawa on certain issues but separation is like the least likely outcome. All I was saying in this thread is that Canada isnโt becoming the 51st state and Alberta wonโt separate realistically.
@JasonLaPlante5@babsxVR@UpdateNews724 Alberta will never get enough support to separate, the province won't go anywhere. Will they demand changes from Ottawa? Probably. However, Alberta isn't going to separate. The logistics alone deter most, hence why Quebec's referendum ultimately failed.
