@TimoTweetss As someone that LOVES Alan Wake, there’s something about Resonant that isn’t clicking for me. I can’t explain it but I couldn’t put Alan Wake II down, I struggle to pickup Resonant. Eday came out and I haven’t gone back, I even have played the FO76 seasonal more TBH. No shade
@Complex I’m sorry but am I the only one willing to sacrifice this sliver of pizza to ensure my pie slaps? Like if she’s confident in the product enough to do this, I bet that pizza is GOOD! Small sacrifice that I wouldn’t even notice
@wesleytypes@CyberpunkGame@CDPROJEKTRED Corpo just seemed to add a fluidity to the rest of the story for me, I don’t know if it’s caused I leaned heavily into the espionage style but that was my favorite opening of the 3.
Wolverine PS5 Review
Let’s start this off with the things I wish they would’ve done
Playing the game insomniac clearly wanted to make this a proper hub world setup and I wish they did, I enjoyed the game but just seeing each area and how they could’ve had side activities, etc that
seemed to be the original vision
Wolverine can climb in some places but not in others which made things feel abit clunky, I think he should’ve just been able to climb the buildings anywhere with his claws if this was a hub area with open exploration
Second, Jean Grey clearly was going to be a playable character and it’s evident when playing the game outside of the leaks. Insomniac probably got spooked by the MJ comments but Jean is not MJ so it would’ve been nice to have her playable too but I enjoyed the focus on Wolverine anyways
Outside of those I didn’t care about the trail following or audio signals or the QTE stuff you saw online, that didn’t bother me
Now let’s look at what I liked
Story -
I enjoyed the story, at the beginning I was hoping for something more dark but the story did get darker as you went through it. Liam as Wolverine was great and I was invested in his story throughout my playthrough. Some mention a mix of plot lines but I’m personally not someone who reads the comics and to me it was mainly a story about saving mutants. Insomniac also clearly wanted to establish a lot of lore here for Wolverine to give him presence in this universe so that could be also a reason why they involved so much but again the overall story was about saving mutants. There were some parts that didn’t hit as I assume they wanted to but overall I enjoyed the story.
Nightmare trials -
The nightmare trials are mostly simple and whatever but I really enjoyed playing the Gauntlets, just having wave after wave of enemies to plow through and the end goal being the Hellverine skin was a nice touch
Gameplay -
Gameplay is a lot of fun, I don’t get people talking about how they got bored quick? How are you playing the game because as you progress throughout the game and unlock specials and more adaptations, Wolverine becomes a beast giving you different ways to manage single enemies and crowd control
This game has the cycle of slaughter in it which I enjoy when games have that setup and make it fun
Wolverine goes from taking out enemies in certain ways, parrying etc and these fuel your specials faster and you use your specials to take out more enemies and that cycle is a lot of fun. On top of that add the rage tiers and the charged claw attacks and you’re just on an endless streak of obliterating enemies which didn’t get boring for me personally
Visuals -
The game is a pretty game with a lot of detail as expect from Insomniac
Each environment you went through had its own style and filled with detail perfect for photomode users. Photomode is also great here as well with a bunch of options
Overall rating : 8/10
