Spent the day in A&E yesterday. Let me tell you, the way things are being run is an absolute shambles. I spoke to almost everyone in the waiting room. All there because they had been neglected by consultants.

Glasgow’s education cuts are the tip of the iceberg in a nationwide crisis.

With up to 450 teacher posts at risk and 172 already lost, schools are struggling to function. Teachers face soaring workloads, fewer resources, and rising stress levels, while pupils, especially those with additional support needs—are losing vital care.

Sadly, this isn’t just a Glasgow issue. Other local authorities across Scotland are considering similar drastic cuts, threatening the future of education throughout the country.

As extracurricular activities vanish and school services decline, the impact on pupils and staff is devastating.

Teachers are burning out, unable to keep up with mounting responsibilities, while children are left without the support they need to thrive. This is not sustainable.

The Scottish Government and local councils must take responsibility and act urgently before irreparable damage is done to our education system.

We need real investment in schools, not continued cutbacks that harm everyone involved. Education should be a priority—not a budget-balancing exercise at the expense of teachers and students.

It’s time to stand up for Scotland’s teachers and pupils and stop these damaging cuts before more harm is done. Our schools and communities deserve better.

@DudeAdhd It’s also terrifying that the ADHD questionnaires we receive are about 50 years out of date in terms of person friendly language. As if ADHD is all about destructive behaviour. I refuse to fill them out fully.

@asdfriendly @DudeAdhd Commenting as an autism outreach teacher here. Not excusing it, but this could easily have been me. 100+ on case list and when I walk into classes I can easily spot 5-6 autistic/ND kids in a class so often need to ask.

On my way to @NASUWT_Scotland conference to talk about period problems, armed with my hot water bottle because I’m having an endo flare up. Couldn’t have timed it better but I can’t wait to be home to my bed.
