As a side note, the reason I didn't recognise her is that I don't know any HOA members because our property was grandfather'd in to not have to join the HOA.

So of course we didn't.

Also, randomly, my eldest learnt to read English after Italian, and her initial pronunciation attempts at both "blue" (bloo-ay) and "tomatoes" (toe-mah-toe-ays) is one of my fondest memories.
