This changes allows for you to still gear your main job and go best-in-slot, but you can flex to match an open PF or join friends.

No amount of trucks would have prevented or slowed these fires. The conditions were the worst we have experienced since black summer fires in 19/20

What is missing was:
- it was 40C+ in most of the state
- winds were northerly, over 30kph
- we had dry lightning throughout the state overnight
- it was hot overnight (ex. Ararat was 30C+ at 3am), so the RH didn’t improve
- more dry lightning is expected tonight

All National Parks will be closed and campers are being told to pack up and leave before tomorrow morning during peak holiday season!

Places like Lake Eidolon which is a popular holiday spot and a great place to cool down during a hot day will be off limits to the public. Lake Eildon is expecting 38 degree temperatures tomorrow
