A photo shared by a family member of Sergeant Mahdhee.
Beyond any doubt, Mahdhee was everything described in this photo and more. He was a courageous hero who descended into that cave fully aware of the risks involved, in an attempt to retrieve the bodies of four Italian divers so their families could grieve and lay their loved ones to rest.
We must never forget Mahdhee or the sacrifice he made in service. If it were up to me, I would even rename the cave in his honor.
But honoring him with words alone will not do justice to his sacrifice!
The most important thing now is to carefully investigate what led to this tragic incident, learn every possible lesson from it, and ensure that such a tragedy never happens again. We cannot afford to lose another life the same way.
If we fail to learn from this incident, improve the safety of future divers, and fix the systemic failures that contributed to this tragedy, then his sacrifice would have been in vain.
This incident will once again show the difference between a country that truly values human life & dignity and one that does not.
The Italian Gov spent resources to hire professional divers to retrieve the bodies of five of their citizens, transport them back to Italy, planning to conduct autopsies, and launch investigations into whether criminal negligence contributed to the tragedy.
Meanwhile, when @MNDF_Official CG diver Mahdhy died, he was buried within hours. To this day, the public does not even know whether he drowned, ran out of gas, or what exactly caused his death. It is unclear whether authorities seriously investigated the cause of death at all, let alone whether there was negligence by anyone involved.
A human life should never be treated as disposable, especially the life of someone who risked himself in service of the country.
Every life deserves answers.
Every death deserves accountability.

Fedup with BML's ever-changing USD transaction limits and restrictions? In this article I document the full BML dollar limit saga and suggest some ways you can get more USD transaction limits from BML themselves and some other local banks.

When 99% of the thalassemia community rises against you, you don’t get to stay and pretend it’s business as usual. In just 4 hours, 100 out of 101 voters said you failed them.
You are not a leader, you are a disgrace.
Shirna @7Dhath , you have humiliated yourself enough. Step down before you do even more damage. You are done. Resign now!

Here is the footage of the press where Firuzul announced the 700 political appointee limit. He elaborates that this number includes the administrative staff working at @presidencymv as well. I also do my research and come prepared @MvSpokesperson
I am honestly shocked after watching this.
A minister going on national TV and sharing what was said on a victim support helpline… just a day after someone died by suicide?
How can we as a country let this be the normal. It’s unprofessional and unethical.
That was someone’s most vulnerable moment. Those conversations are supposed to be sacred, protected, private, safe.
Instead, they were exposed live on TV. Not only does this violate her dignity, it puts out raw, triggering details that can deeply affect others who are already struggling.
Additionally, if this is how confidential helplines are treated, how can anyone else feel safe enough to reach out for help?
Government and ministers are not supposed to stoop to the level of social media gossip groups. Those at the top are meant to set the example, by holding themselves to the highest standards, always.
That didn’t happen here. So I’m asking the media and everyone on social platforms: please take up that responsibility yourselves.
Do not repeat what was said. Do not amplify or share her msgs. Protect what little dignity and trust remains.
Pres just indirectly admitted to the malpractice of irregular political hiring @ SOEs, and he’s realized (by the recent election results) that people do not like it. So:
- no more political hiring at SOEs
- such hires to be fired
- only merit-based hires, transparent process

Remember the MTCC taxi app scandal from Thursday? FixedMaldives run by a police officer called “ghost.” Owner registered at the same address as MTCC’s GM who ran the tender. Milestone payments cleared before the app even worked. Data leaks on launch night.
MTCC’s MD is Ahmed Saudhee, retired Deputy Commissioner. Leaked chat logs show him and the newly appointed commissioner were discussing vessel procurement costs in the tens of thousands while both were still in uniform.
The man who should investigate the MTCC scandal now has a personal procurement history with the man running MTCC.
@Midhuamsaud@WhoIsFishie@raftalks@dash8x, your work just became a lot more important. The fox is officially guarding the henhouse.
