@gnubermeister Nah I avoid most of the Discourseโข like that, but I've walked at last a few dozen people who "weren't computer people" through installing Linux on something to speed it up and 90% of the time they're up and running in a half hour max lol
@gnubermeister What always blows my mind is how many insane issues Windows users will dismiss out of hand like bluescreens, crashes, driver mismatches, anything, then tell you "but Linux is so hard to use"
@XylariaVG @TransTwill Yeah I think so! It was crazy how much variety we found in that game with so little to work with, like that was the time when survival edition didn't even have colored wool lol
@ellieweinstein6 Yeah, I'm fully boosted and everything and I should be fine, but I don't wanna be selfish and risk it. Hope to see you at ERRF or something soon!
I've been informed that a close contact of mine tested positive for COVID-19, and as such will unfortunately be cancelling my trip to #mrrf2022 as Antithesis Labs. Hope to see you all next year.
@XylariaVG I mean, yeah, a lot of the biggest things were offshoots of general research tech work from the 1940s-80s at R&D labs and universities, so they've run out of echoes to amplify at this point since capitalism mostly breeds iteration, not innovation.
@whitequark @_grubermeister_ If you get something going could you invite us 3D printer designers that still actually believe in the ideals of the RepRap project and open hardware? Kinda sick of buzzwords and marketing ploys ruling the roost.
My friend @agenworx just wrote a pretty interesting article about material mixing in #3Dprinting and is too modest to promote it herself so I'll do it here: https://t.co/pNeWtjg8YR
@pukicho Baccano? Despite being by a major studio that went on to do a lot of popular stuff, their series about Italian mobsters that drink immorality juice because they think it's bootleg gin never gets much recognition.
@amiedoubleD@joeltelling@JoAnn_Stores Basically all the machines they picked for sale ended up being pretty user-hostile and limited, unfortunately. I was excited about them adding printing but it's a shame what they chose to stock ๐
@kaludiasays Has anyone brought up Izzzyzzz or Atrocity Guide? Also, Space Feather, extraordinarily underrated essayist with some great retrospectives.
