The Amish in New York are facing massive fines over Democrats vaccine mandates. Amish families will likely have to flee the state after losing the religious exemption they’ve had for decades
Amish private schools are being hit with crushing fines for not having students vaccinated
The fines are roughly $2,000 per noncompliant children, multiplied by the number of school days
3 small schools were sited, of the 59 children already cited, one more day of attendance brought the total fines to $118,000, they say they can’t pay it
New York Democrats position is that every day an unvaccinated child attends school there will be a fresh violation worth up to $2,000
@BruceJournal2 @ClintHurdle13 Very few things were better than those ’70s good hair days! Even the wild Amish boys did okay with that :)
I was amazed how many trucks are parked along the shoulder of I-75 last night! Not just the ramps but on down the way roadside, so dangerous!
I stayed in Macon, and this lot is one I’ve been needing to get into for awhile!
Great job Mac, this to me is ideal for parking, I’ll definitely hit it up again!
You can find this property on Truck Parking Club, link in the replies, gated, paved, trash can, well lit, and easy big parking next to a QT with a walkway and access gate. Also Wifi available in the lot and access code with your reservation.
Use code “indie20” case sensitive and save $20 on your next booking.

I have dug through over 7,000+ arrest records in the state of North Carolina over the past 2 weeks.
What I found was so shocking, I had a hard time believing it myself...
It appears major fraud is taking place in arrest records where Black offenders are labelled White.
I didn't come across this once or twice.
It appears that a few HUNDRED Black offenders are being labelled as White.
The option to pick "BLACK" exists and is used frequently in arrest records...
...but it seems they are purposely choosing the label of "WHITE AFRICAN" or "WHITE CAUCASIAN" to identify someone who is clearly a "BLACK" person.
This is massive fraud.
Y'all are not going to believe the story of Ira Lee Corbin, the great great grandfather of Traces of Texas reader Donovan Rhone. Donovan was nice enough to send this in but even nicer to accompany it with Ira's life story. Here it is, as Ira told it, in his own words. It's quite a tale of survival:
"In 1882-10-10, I was born in a dirt floor, one room log cabin in Hill county Texas. Four months later father died, leaving Mother, two sisters and I. Mom moved to Mississippi to be near her Mother and some half brothers and sisters. She married a man with a half dozen kids. He wouldn’t work and Mother tired of supporting him and his. She divorced him. All she got from him was another baby to care for. She placed us kids in an orphan home. My two own sisters were adopted out. Mom married again. This one would work but he was a drunkard and was very cruel to the family. My eldest sister ran off and came to us, as they had brought me out of the Catholic orphan home and she found my half sister who had been lost. My other sister was released from adoption at 21. In the late 1880s we suffered hardships and hunger. At times there was no food. Once sister and I earned 25 cents and we bought salt pork and corn meal. Once Mother put water in a Molasses barrel and shook and rolled it around and gave us kids the sweet water. It was all we had for food at the time.
With step Dad number two, we moved from Memphis, Tennessee to St Louis, Missouri in 1890 by river steamboat and in a few months back to Memphis by river, 350 miles. We were living in Memphis when the first bridge was built. Before that the trains were transferred over the old Mississippi by boat, the old CB Briant. Back to St Louis by rail, a terrible panic was on, the winter of 1893-94 the old Mississippi River froze over. I saw freighting on the ice with four draft horses. It hasn’t frozen over since. At that time only two bridges at St. Louis and one at Memphis. November 5th or 6th, (illegible word) four at Memphis, one at mouth of Ohio and one at least in Mississippi.
I some time flew my kite from the flat roof of large buildings to be above all of the wires. I viewed a parade from house top in which President Grover Cleveland was riding in an open carriage drawn by a pair of white horses. He wore a silk stove pipe hat. We were in St Louis when the Union Station Depot was being built. It was completed in 1895. In the 1890s a kid could ride the street cars for 2 1/2 cents. The clothes line in big cities are on top of big buildings or belt types strung from one building to another. Some 4 or 5 stories in the air with a pulley at each end. A family at each end could hang out at the same time.
The panic drew us from St Louis in September 1894, step dad and I started to Texas. We walked or stole rides on freighters. We started out with $1.65. When Burt (step dad) and I left St Louis, we gave a brakie 10 cents to let us ride to the end of his run, 15 miles to Popular Bluff we rode in a cattle car open. We spotted a fire across the yard and as the night was cold we went to the fire. A dozen or more hobos were there. A big Irish leader said stand back and his stand back let the two of us near the fire. All along the trip if there were hobos in the cars with us, they would beg food. I being a small boy, they would divide with me. If were alone, I had to beg the food. People were sorry for me and were nice. We traveled on the RI, MT and MK&T and St Louis & SW Railroads I saw the Rossie Lee burn loaded with cotton.
Picked up a few dollars at Mt Pleasant for work.
Killeen, Tx was our destination. When we arrived about October 15th, we had walked 280 miles. I had to beg some food as a common hobo. I was 12 at Pittsburgh (or Pitsboro?) Texas. We arrived in Killeen in warm weather and bought a bar of soap. Where our road crossed Nolan Creek, we left the road and went up the creek out of sight, stripped bathed and washed our clothes. Hung out to dry on bushes, put them on and on our way to relatives. We picked cotton and gathered corn. Earned and sent Mother and little sis $40. They came out and we all picked cotton until April 1895.
In the summer of 1895, we went in one horse rig up in Hill county visiting. While there some boys in a swimming hole told me there were baby squirrels in a nest. I climbed up and got the four babies. I begged a spoon full of milk on our way home. Didn’t know how I would raise them as we had no cow but when we got home, the old mama cat had four babies. We moved her and put the four orphans to her. After awhile she began licking them. Then she accepted them. She raised all eight babies. That fall of 1895 we went south to pick cotton. Found it in Williamson county but we had to wait a week for it to open. So we camped on Gabriel creek. We were going to break camp on Friday. Step dad sent me in to the little town of Janner to grind some coffee and warmed me not to be gone long.
Because of a revival meeting, no one was home. I went from door to door. Finally at noon the people came home. I got service and returned to camp. He was angry and would accept no excuse. He punished me by starvation. I had no food from that Friday morning til Tuesday noon. I missed 12 meals but as I would go to work in a couple of days, he let me to the trough. The first food didn’t stay down. We started picking August 21st. He would tell sis and I if we didn’t pick so much, we didn’t eat. So we went to bed hungry many nights.
We had lived in the cities and were poor cotton pickers. Sis was 8 and I near 13. Our best days she got 165 and I 235, Mom 236 and he 244 (lbs?). Our boss told us later that he watched step dad weigh and he would deduct from our weight and add to his. There were several men out there and they noticed how he whipped and drove us kids and they resented it. Mom decided we were among friends and although step dad told us many times, if we tried to run off he would he would find us and kill us. Mom decided to run for freedom so our Mom told our boss her plans to slip out in the night and asked him to be watching and if step dad tried to follow us to detain him. Mom put her hand on me and I got up without a sound. She picked sis up and we all but ran up to the bosses house. We found him and a dozen men waiting for us to protect us but step dad didn’t wake to miss us until morning. He found us and tried to persuade Mom to go back to him but she had given him several trials and couldn’t trust him. He went to our old camp on Gabriel creek for a few days and as our friends were afraid he would slip around and harm us, a posse of men and others went to the creek to lynch him but he had left that day. We had all worked and bought a horse. A two year old and a nice old hack. Step dad got that plus several weeks cotton picking. He sold the rig and went back to St Louis.
For the next five years, I would work here and there and be beat out of my wages. I was in McClennan county in 1899 when a record breaking blizzard came February on a Saturday and Sunday. It was 14 degrees below. The kerosene in the lamps was mushy ice. One stormy night in Falls county, I saw a beautiful rainbow in the middle of the night.
Finally at 18, I went to Navarro county where I met and fell in love with the sweetest woman in the world, Dora Burks. As she was easy pleased, she fell for me too. December 22, 1901 we were married at Eureka, TX. God let me keep her for 49 1/2 short years. During that time, we were blessed with 9 fine children. All are still living to date. First, Mira 3-4-1903. Next, Drue? 10-6-1905. Nora 1-4-1907. Milton 7-20-1909. Doris 9-16-1910. Buddy 6-14-1912. L.A. 2-12-1914. Lura 11-26-1917. Lou Pearl 6-25-1922.
Saw milling in 1909-10, I had several very narrow escapes from death by being run down or mashed by big logs and being ripped open by the saw but God was watching over me.
We moved to Denton county late in 1910. Worked on a farm until April 1915. Rigged up a covered wagon and struck out for New Mexico with my darling and 7 kids. We would buy milk along as we would find it. When we found people who had been on the road themselves, they would give us milk and butter. We found Lubbock a very small place. The court house was about 3 or 4 rooms like a small home completely hidden by locus? saplings. ‘Twas 80 miles from New Mexico when we saw our first wild antelope in droves. I was standing up behind the spring seat, shaving with an old type razor when we saw a real Santa deer cross the road 300 yards ahead of us. I looked at him through my telescope.
We didn’t find the land we wanted to homestead so didn’t stay there but a few weeks. As we were coming out of New Mexico about July 15th, L.A. our 18 month son saw water ahead of us and said “otter, otter”. We saw the lake and it looked about 2 miles away but after driving 3 1/2 hours we met travelers and asked about the lake. ‘‘Twas still over a days drive to it. We had seen a mirage. ‘Twas Sunday noon and we thought we would rest the team till morning. Turned them loose, that Monday morning there was no team in sight. Wife and two boys went east in search. I saw a windmill about 3 miles west, went to it, climbed the tower and could sweep the range for miles with scope but no horses. We were in the “Figure 2 Ranch” just ten miles square. The ranch foreman let me have a branch to ride that one and next day and the third day at noon the foreman and an oldster cowboy came leading the team in. We was about out of food and tried to buy from the ranch. They wouldn’t have our money but gave us food.
Twas still about two days to the first town, Littlefield. 2nd was Hail center, next Plainview. There we turned north to Amarillo. Then back down the Ft Worth & Denver RR to Claud? just up on the cap rock. We were needing money so we stopped there about 3 weeks and I ran a bundle wagon in the harvest field. Then south and east to Hollis, OK. Now we went southwest of Memphis around Lakeview and picked cotton several weeks. Then to Hollis just as their cotton was getting ready. We picked and pulled until next spring, then we hoopped? cut at 50 cents per acre when 6 of us would cut 1 1/2 acres a day at 75 cents. Then I was kept pretty busy carpentering, painting and paper hanging. The kids when not at work would get a wire and twist rabbits out of prairie dog holes. Sometimes there were rattlers in the holes.
We started out for East Texas in the summer of 1917 but we stopped in Navarro county and picked cotton until November. Then to Rusk where Lura came and some of the children started to school at Parks school. In the summer of 1918, we bargained for our first and only and present home. We gave about $15 per acre. The old house was run down and we had most of the land to clear. Our covered wagon trip was over 1,500 miles.
Twas a struggle clearing land, farming and repairing the old house and fencing all the land and trying to live. All of the doors, shiplap and the windows were all boarded up. I bought a few old windows and now and then a little lumber and we would patch and repair. In the summer of 1934, I hardly knew where the next sack of flour would come from. It was the dark hour just before the day. In June, came the little oil flurry and the Lord gave us over $9,000. We first paid all we owed, then bought lumber and some help and built our home. By then we only had two single children. We were the first in that part of the country to have running and hot water. Our phone line was the first two wire line in the area.
In 1944-45 the Lord gave us another sum of more than $10,000. I can’t understand why he has been so good to me. I know I haven’t deserved it. I was so thankful that my darling had some comfort of life the last several years she was here but when God saw fit to take her from me, my world collapsed."
The house that Ira Corbin talked about at the end ended up burning to the ground and Ira ended up living the last of his long life next to one of his daughters.
I ask y'all: was that not a GREAT life story? Such tenacity!
Thank you, Donovan. Great stuff!

Watching these people wipe out brought back a childhood memory I hadn’t thought about in years. 😂
My stepfather was BIG into CB radios. We had a home base, one in every vehicle, and a huge steel CB tower alongside the house.
One day us kids were out in the yard playing football. My brother took off running for a pass, watching the ball instead of where he was going. He caught it, turned his head forward and WHAM! Ran full speed straight into that steel tower.
He got up with a goose egg on his head, and being the loving and compassionate siblings we were, we laughed our butts off. 😂
Sorry, little brother, but all these years later, I can still hear that CLANG! 😂😂

@fubar_fixer Yea, well, they're about to run into a real damn problem with me.
UPDATE for those keeping up with the eminent domain situation with Fenn Church. Since when is a for profit utility company a "Sovereign Power?" Alabama Power is so hell bent on taking his land, they are taking this to the AL Supreme Court. Pray for Fenn. Pls watch, and repost👇
Many police departments have challenge coins which are coins with department logos on them. Many officers collect them. I personally never have. But today, I got gifted a very unique challenge "badge." He said very few people have it so I think I'll hang on to it. Ive never seen one of this quality & its the size of their real badge. The guy is a current US Capitol police officer with many decades on the force. He & I shared a very enjoyable conversation talking shop. Before we parted ways I had to ask the question.
Me: Were u there on Jan 6th?
Him: Yeah man & I know what you're going to ask me. The answer is that it was a complete sham. I plan to maybe write a book about it after I retire but I don't know if I want to go down that road or not. There would be major implications if u know what I mean."
I respected what he said & didn't push but I gave him my number in case he wanted to talk later or anything. That guy made my day. Great interaction!👮♂️🚔
THEN, On March 11, 2011, Chicago Police identified Black as the suspect in another criminal-damage-to-property investigation at a residential building shortly after 2 a.m. Police records say witnesses accused her of deliberately breaking a window, and the incident report noted suspected alcohol use.
That case was ultimately dismissed after the complaining witness failed to appear.
And THEN came December 30, 2012.
Illinois State Police arrested Black for DUI in Macon County after an officer reported observing her speeding, improperly changing lanes and exhibiting signs of intoxication.
The officer documented a strong odor of alcohol and reported that Black failed field-sobriety testing. Her chemical alcohol test was approximately .202. The legal limit was .08.
That is more than TWO AND A HALF TIMES the legal limit.
Black ultimately pleaded guilty to DUI on March 14, 2013. She received 18 months of court supervision rather than an immediate judgment of conviction. Her conditions included substance-abuse requirements and 100 hours of community service.
On January 10, 2014, the Macon County State’s Attorney filed a formal petition alleging Black had failed to provide timely verification that she completed 20 hours of required substance-abuse treatment and 100 hours of required community service during the first nine months of her supervision.
Prosecutors asked the court to consider further action, including potentially revoking her supervision and entering a judgment of conviction.
Black ultimately completed the supervision process, and the DUI case was discharged and dismissed in November 2014 without a final DUI conviction.
But wait… there’s more…
Before becoming the Democratic nominee for Texas House District 61, Black briefly filed paperwork to run for CONGRESS in Texas’ 3rd Congressional District. On December 4, 2025, “Brittany Black for Congress” was designated as her principal campaign committee.
Four days later, she withdrew that candidacy after reporting no money raised or spent. She subsequently entered the race for Texas House District 61, won the Democratic primary and is now asking voters in Collin County to send her to the Texas Legislature.
Candidates for public office are asking the public to trust them with power, taxpayer money and the authority to help write the laws everyone else is expected to follow.
Therefore, transparency is important when it comes to Black’s record.
Voters deserve the complete record of anyone asking to represent them in the Texas Legislature. I do not know what was presented on her ballot application. Hopefully she checked off “yes” when it asked about criminal history.
I hate asking for help.
I hate it because I’ve spent all of my adult life being the man who helped everybody else. But cancer doesn’t give a damn about pride, and it doesn’t care how strong you think you are. It has taken my health, my ability to work, my ability to drive, my family, and my independence. And after everything I’ve fought through, I’m standing here having to admit something that hurts worse than I expected: I’m the one who needs help now.
At the request of several people, I’ve opened this fundraiser back up. I’m not looking for a handout. I’m asking for a hand up because cancer has taken pieces of my life I never thought I’d have to give up. I’m a Navy Veteran fighting Stage 2 colon cancer with high-risk factors. I was diagnosed on July 18, 2025. Since then, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and everything that comes with cancer have changed my life in ways I never expected.
I am disabled now, and after court ordered deductions from my SSDI I get $514.00 per month. I can’t drive because of the effects of vertigo and dizziness, which chemotherapy and the radiation tripled in effectiveness. I recently sold my truck to one of my followers because I needed the money more than I needed the truck. And there was a point when I was staring at the possibility of losing my home. That is a terrifying thing to admit when you’ve spent your life believing you were supposed to be the one holding everything together.
I started this fundraiser because I wanted to help Veterans and families dealing with cancer as well as myself. More than $1,700 has already gone back to people who needed help with food, utilities, and basic living expenses. I’m proud of that. I would do it again and again. But somewhere along the way, the man who was helping everyone else became the man who needed help. That is a hell of a thing to admit.
I’ve spent my adult life being the provider. The guy people called when something needed fixing. The guy who showed up when someone else couldn’t carry the load. I’ve never been particularly good at asking for anything for myself. Cancer has a way of stripping that pride right out of you. So this time, I’m asking.
Donations will help keep me in my home and cover the medical costs I’m paying out of pocket while I continue fighting cancer. They give me some breathing room when I need it most, so I can focus on getting through treatment instead of wondering whether I’m going to lose the place I call home. I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for me. I don’t want pity. I want a chance to keep fighting.
If you can’t donate, I understand. Everyone has their own battles. But sharing this fundraiser costs nothing, and that share could reach someone who can help. I’ve spent a lot of my life helping other people stand when life knocked them down. Right now, I’m the one on the ground. And for the first time in my life, I’m asking somebody to reach down and help me back up. That’s not easy for me to say. But cancer has already taken enough from me. I’m not going to let pride be the next thing it takes.
Thank You and God Bless!
