I worked on my #pokemon engine.
what's new:
save/load, catch Pokemons, teach moves, fishing, status effects, evolutions, gyms and much more.
The engine's getting along pretty well. This video shows about 10% of the project.

@BrixVgm I worked on a shitty prototype in 2021 but gave up on it. I think the new version looks much better.
I've thought about a few dozen minigame ideas. Thundersnail is one of them.
@LoganScott3756 I could post the project as it is right now on itch, but there isn't much to do. Sure, you could play a whole game, but, like, there's only three minigames, right? Before release, I'd want at least 20-30 minigames, multiple fully implemented boards, and a lot more stuff.
@Lividowly Right now, I only have 8 playable characters, but I could theoretically add hundreds of characters. Of course, this screen would look terrible with that many options, so I'd rather there be a small set of characters. Asriel seems like a relevant candidate to include there.
@cranberryamogus Yeah, I wish I could work on it full-time or even part-time, but I have other obligations that I can't afford to put to the side to work on something like this for free. Early on, I would work full days, but for 90% of the project, I worked during bus rides or during breaks.
@FraskedOop It's playable, you can win, the CPUs "work", but it's far from ready. I wouldn't even say I've reached alpha yet. Some people seem to take this to be a trailer, but it's a snapshot of a project in the middle of early development. I have a LOT of ideas, but no time to make them.
@tf2kiwi I actually recorded it using OBS first for a change, but my footage got messed up. I didn't want to figure out the issue, so I just used good ol' trusty Bandicam instead.
@CodeRed_dev@WoostarsPixels My "thing" is making prototype. I don't have assets and I don't have a team, so since 2016 I focused on making technical demos for my portfolio. I wish I could make a full game, but alas I lack the means to.
@CodeRed_dev@WoostarsPixels Been a while since I watched that video. Good memories. I might be one of the only people who likes making online stuff in GM.
Yeah, I was trying to implement a lobby system where different parties would have their own procedurally generated map synchronized.
@friendly_cosmo My S tier would have to be:
Candide, 1984, The Aeneid, The Odyssey, Metamorphoses, any Shakespeare, The Sound and the Fury, The Great Gatsby, Crime and Punishment, The Grapes of Wrath
Original game by: @AamesAlexander
I have made a clone of this 3 times now.
This time I decided to take influence from Mario Maker. I made levels bigger than one screen, there's a level editor and a course world where you can upload your levels.
