Happy #IWD2021! Today is a reminder that gender equality is not just a women’s issue. There can be no progress without equal participation and opportunity for all. Each one of us has a role to play to ensure gender disparity and exclusion has no place in our future.
4. If you’re a lawmaker, get to work on amending unequal legal provisions.
5. If you work in HR, ensure strict implementation of workplace harassment policy.
6. If you’re a CIS-gendered, straight woman w/ class and caste privileges, make space for other women and pass the mic.
You’ve wished everyone a happy #IWD2021. Great. Now do this:
1. If you’re an employer, institutionalize equal pay.
2. If you’re a partner, share domestic responsibilities.
3. If you’re a parent, let your daughter be free.
#IWD: How oftn do we make it our daily conversation/actions? Because 364 days there still exists patronising advice regularly doled out to women, stigma, stereotypes, GBV, unequal legal provisions, unequal pay…starting from home & in every walk.
So post #IWD2021, take action!

The inyambo (sacred cows)are the star attraction at Nyanza palace and their staggeringly large horns. Throughout the day, traditional singers lull the cows into a mellow state by belting poems—a ritual that's unique to Rwanda.
