@cryptopunks has been around for 9 years.
This means as a new creator today you need to have a long-term vision. Otherwise you won't achieve the steadfastness of OG bluechips.

One interesting observation I made is that trait rarity not always dictates price.

Meaning certain traits might be more rare on paper but less valued by collectors. And other traits might be slightly more common but highly sought after because of their aesthetics.

That further means, especially early on, be very careful what you buy/sell. Because the market will reprice traits according to taste, and not solely based on rarity numbers.

On the other hand, if you have a good feeling for what people might value visually, you could be able to make some great buys before the prices increase.

One key aspect I pursue is variety and creative diversity amongst traits and items. I believe this is what makes collections interesting to holders and where you as the creator can showcase your passion for the project.
That's why I go out of my way to avoid conventional traits that have already been (over)done by other collections (for example laser eyes, pirate hat, zombie).

But the real challenge is that you can't get rid of "boring" traits per se. Because the less desirable traits are those which differentiate floor NFTs from more expensive ones. That means you kind of have to make some characters less cool or more plain. Otherwise you might dilute the value at the top.
Then, yet again, you do not want floor NFTs to look bad. Otherwise the collection is not attractive to new buyers or you potentially hurt the quality of the brand.

So I'm working very carefully on making floor NFTs look great, but grails phenomenal... while at the same time balancing a clear visual differentiation between rarities.

This is one of the earliest concepts for the worldbuilding of Majin. The purpose of these illustrations is to visualize ideas for the brand. It’s also a way to test the color palette, get a better feeling for the “vibe”, place items or traits within the world of Majin, and to explore how we can communicate scale through art.
Again, this is just a concept so don’t get too attached to it. But a variation of the "black broken halo" will be one of the many traits in the collection.

This early concept visualizes the relationship of a character with her companion.
These little friends are part of the collection and play a vital role in Majin. But be careful: they are not just rare and cute. They protect their owners and may at times display unexpected capabilities.

We create the universe first, and then place our NFTs, traits, grails, etc. in it.
The old recipe of launching a 10k collection into a void, and then coming up with lore and meaning after the fact won't work anymore. It's not convincing enough to compete with bluechips.
That's why we have to take it further. Yes, the metaverse might not become a reality, but just like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars built their own worlds, we aim to do the same, because it's a proven way to make an IP mainstream compatible and attractive to an audience beyond web3.

When the oil crisis hits, governments will start printing money again like during c*vid.

Massive amounts of fresh capital injected into the economy to avert a deep recession. And retail will put it all in crypto to gamble it away.

Combine that with BTC as payment in the Strait of Hormuz for gazillions of dollars in toll, and you have two catalysts that might finally bring us the golden bull.

That is the ultimate chance for us all to skrrret skeppedy depp dump everything we have on new retail investors and finally retire.

I know things look bleak and you need that hopium bad, but the reality is that the US administration (aka Tr*mp) doesn't want the legacy of them plunging the world into a recession.

So if things go just wrong enough, they will absolutely print a few more trillion to at least push the responsibility and doom onto the next president. And the UK, EU etc. will follow suit because they cannot afford the uprising of their population due to a recession while the US is striving and high and happy on inflation.

If that happens the whole market will run wild and even the worst coins will pump again. Are the odds high? Meh. But the odds are at least not zero. There's a good chance for outrageous pumpery and government level scammery to our benefit.

But while you play the SHORT GAME, you will never win.

Let me explain the difference — and with it; the spirit of Majin.

You go to the gym today and expect to be in shape tomorrow —> you lose.

You go on one date and expect to find a wife —> you lose.

You invest in a single project and expect to hit a unicorn —> you lose.

Anything good in life requires consistency and patience. It requires you to align your expectations according to reality.

For fitness, your body needs TIME to adjust to routine before it can yield results.

For relationships, trust and bond need to be established over TIME.

For wealth, your portfolio grows over TIME through diversification.

That means:
if you feel that you do not have TIME — then you already lost.

Short-term strategies DO NOT WORK, and short-term thinking leads to false expectations which ensure you NEVER achieve the outcome you desire.

This leaves you with 2 options:

A) Remain WILLFULLY ignorant and continue to get baited by short-term TRAPS that guarantee you never achieve your goals.

B) Prepare for your patience to be tested BUT equally REWARDED long-term.

Yes, the market took a heavy hit today, and maybe it keeps going like this. So fucking what. Since THE BEGINNING OF TIME things have gone UP and DOWN. The only people surprised or concerned about that are SHORT-TERM THINKERS.

I call them SLOPPERS.

The SLOPPER chases only short-term desires.

He hits the gym SOMETIMES but stops due to lack of immediate results — so he stays a fat piece of shit forever.

He talks to women SOMETIMES, gets rejected, and remains a resentful man forever — instead of getting the girl he REALLY WANTS.

He invests SOMETIMES but has no plan and no conviction, is prone to gambling, loses, learns nothing, gives up — and stays forever poor.

The SLOPPER is an OUTCOME WINDOW SHOPPER.

He knows what he wants, and deep down also knows how to get it. But he prefers to stroll around, look at everything life has to offer, and at best put in half-assed effort — just to be able to tell himself that he "tried” but life is “unfair”.
Because he is AFRAID that if he were to put in REAL effort, time and patience, the stakes would be too high for him to handle.

This is the reason why the SLOPPER is a life-long COWARD.

He never REALLY tried. He never committed FULLY to anything. He always left himself an excuse as a way out. In his head: no real effort = no real failure.

But that also means he NEVER EVEN HAD A SHOT at success.

Never achieved the physique he wanted.
Never got the girl he wanted.
Never became financially free.

The spirit of Majin is the opposite of that.

We don’t window shop.

We grab opportunities BY THE BALLS and we hold on to them for however long we fucking need to in order to achieve the results we DESERVE.

The SLOPPER on the other hand knows that he doesn't even deserve it. Why would god reward someone with no patience who can only think short-term? It ain't going to happen.

But those who play the LONG GAME, those who can WAIT patiently, those who lay in the grass like fucking SNIPERS - ready to PULL THE TRIGGER at any moment - THOSE ARE THE ONES WHO WIN.

And yes, maybe you don't win today. Maybe not even tomorrow.

But you WILL win.

On an extended timeframe the SLOPPER always loses, and the ones playing the LONG GAME always win.

But no cocksucker wanted to invest during 2022. Because it was the middle of the bear and everyone was afraid that things maybe never get better again.

We even had some retarded fucking niggas ask for refunds on those investments because they got nervous. So eventually only a few people ended up making crazy money from all this. Because the majority proved to be SLOPPERS. They either skipped these investments or ran out of patience afterwards.

And holy fucking shit, that must sting fucking bad, to consciously fuck it up when you HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY IN FRONT OF YOU because you cannot help acting like some piece of shit SLOP NIGGA.

So this time, try not to pussy out

Try to keep your eyes on the fucking goal
