Thanks @GreenManGaming for working with us to reissue keys to affected customers of @restorygame . If you bought the game through GMG - a replacement key is on its way! No action needed on your end.

Here's what happened:

- We spotted an unusually high volume of keys being resold through shady key resellers at under retail price and pulled the branch immediately. This one is on us, sorry.
- It wasn’t a leak - scalpers exploited regional pricing to buy Global Steam keys cheap, then resold them mislabeled as EU/UK/US keys, undercutting legit retail pricing
- Keys already bought through GMG will continue to work globally and are covered by their support if anything ever goes wrong - that’s exactly why we work with an authorized, Valve-vetted partner rather than leaving customers to fend for themselves. Future keys will be region-specific to prevent this from happening again.

Please stick to legit channels when buying games. Steam directly, or an authorized reseller like GMG. If a site’s price looks too good to be true, it probably is. And the origins of the key are likely fraudulent.

Shady key reseller websites create incentives that hurt game developers (and ultimately the gamer experience).

From a situation like this to creating a whole gray market economy of botnets pretending to be influencers asking for press keys, to scalping legitimate giveaways of games and far worse.

Players find cheaper-than-retail pricing and in the end get hurt when keys are revoked, and it sucks because it's not their fault.
