Take the middle way.

Finish the project in its entirety in a timeline that works. You will deliver early, tell nobody yet.

Use the free bandwidth you have now created to FIND SOMETHING ELSE worth fixing and make a plan.

Once you have your new project fleshed out, write a proposal. Deliver first project early and in due time, propose second project.

This isn't about work. This is about training to take agency and become a "prime mover".

TLDR: quit languishing and conquer; not for the conquest, but for your spirit.

I don't think it was the Christians so much as it was the fact that power consolidated within a single generation and was contained there. The "system" is still structured for those that are just trying to get their 401k, cash out, and spend it before they die. No sense of continuity. Meanwhile the state is free to do whatever as long as the Dow stays up.

I agree with your point on its merits, but I don't see it as the root cause.
