Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory.
Los Angeles, 1996.
In 1996, Meech ventured off to California in search of a new plug. Through a contact he had in LA, he connected with Wayne Joyner, an LA native who was in the game and ran a car wash. When Meech got to LA, his cash flow had dried up and he was desperate for a resurrection. Wayne initially declined his ask for help, and after some life turmoil, he opened up to the idea of working with Meech.
A year later, Wayne met Jean Paul “Green Eyes” Grammatico one day buying weed, and while talking, Green Eyes told Wayne he knew people that had more c*ke than what they could deal with. Green Eyes had direct ties to the cartel. Green Eyes brought in 1500 kilos in one day, and Meech’s operation took off. Meech’s theory was that if you could move two to three bricks a day, you could move 30 or more. During that time, Meech began studying the legendary crime bosses from movies such as Don Vito Corleone from The Godfather, and Tony Montana and Alejandro Sosa from Scarface. Meech took a piece of each mythical boss, and added to how he wanted to structure his business.
