@Dumbas61007425 @JosephMooneyMP I'm an economist and mathematician, numbers are my forte. NZ isn't meant to make blockbuster films, we can't do it at low enough cost. There is no foreseeable scenario where we can do it at the right cost at any point in the future. We don't have comparative advantage in movies.

@Dumbas61007425 @JosephMooneyMP It's still a subsidy, and you're propping up an uncompetitive sector, which is just throwing money into a hole. The govt has been throwing money at the film sector for decades. How is it not able to survive on it's own now? It will need subsidy forever.
