A true operating system proves itself on bare metal - outside the simulation world.
We have started porting our custom kernel to various bare-metal devices. After our success on Raspberry Pi, we’ve now successfully ported the kernel to the iMX 8M+ SoC by NXP Semiconductors.
In the screenshot, you can see our kernel logs in action:
Setting up the iMX SoC's CCM, followed directly by the kernel environment initialization.
We leverage UBoot to initiate the process, which then hands off to our custom bootloader (XNLDR) to load the kernel into memory.
