Yesterday was MTV's 40th anniversary. The 3yrs I was w/ MTV News was the most surreal, stressful, proud, humbling, educational, celebrity-peppered period in my career. Met the best & worst people & had some of the best & worst experiences. And I'm so glad for it all. #MTV#MTV40
Okay, I'm going to tweet about the brand new, FULL COLOUR (by Alison Acton) edition of Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong, a young adult comic I drew and adapted from a novel by Prudence Shen! Originally it was published in 2013 in black & white. Here's the 2 books together:
Webcomics Twitter help me out - what was the name of the early Oughts webcomic with a little pink character who often said “You will get nothing!” ? There was also a little blue guy in it.
The whole alternate time lines idea is a lot like the idea of parallel worlds in the Long Earth books. Stross’ books are a lot more interesting though - the characters and what happens is far more interesting (to me at least).
Read the two books in Charlie Stross’ new Merchant Princes series. Pretty fun reads and always good when the second book surpasses the first. Third book is due this fall I think.
Read Sid Meier’s Memoir! — quick read. Nice overview of his games and ideas about gaming but surprisingly shallow about the rest of his life. Still interesting to learn a little about his Swiss/Dutch background and his first business partner at Microprose.
