Streamer Collab Etiquette:

✅ DO:
✦ Ask someone their boundaries before a stream!
━ Example: Are they okay with cursing while live or certain types of jokes, etc.

✦ Mute to your collab members when chatting with your community or thanking them for support!
━ Examples: thanking for raids or subs, welcoming your own chatters to the stream, having a convo with your community that your collab members aren't a part

✦ Allow everyone to have a short introduction without being talked over.
━ Everyone in a collab deserves a bit of time to shine in front of new audiences

✦ Make sure everyone's audio is able to be heard on stream!
━ I've been in collabs where my collab members could hear me but their streams couldn't, and it always felt so bad to be the only one not heard

✦ If you had a good time during the collab; think about giving shout-outs to those people who collabed with you after its over!
━ This is not required but does help to promote everyone who was part of the event!

✦ If you have a problem during the collab with a member of the collab, talk about it privately in DMs either when it happens or after the collab, if it's something smaller that can wait
━ Communication is the key to strong relationships and understanding!

❌ DON'T:
✦ Brag about the amount of subs you are getting, or constantly mentioning how much support you get from your community
━ This can make your collab members feel uncomfortable or bad for not having the same level of support

✦ Send your chatters to someone elses stream, within the collab, to heckle them if they are not winning in a game or not doing as well

✦ Talk over or cut off your collab members or ignore what they are saying to focus on only what you wanna say
━ You are not the main character of a collab, you must learn to share the spotlight!

✦ After a collab has started, invite other people without asking the other collab members
━ This is incredibly rude and you don't know who may or may not not be on good terms. Always communicate privately if you want to add someone else

✦ Put down your collab members while in the collab or publicly after the fact.
━ This one seems pretty common knowledge but I've seen people mute and then proceed to talk badly about their collab members WHILE LIVE WITH THEM to their chats!

✦ Cancel last minute or just not show up when you said you'd be there
━ I've had people not show up to collabs they were a part of and yet they would be live on their own channels because instead of explaining that they had something else to do, or no longer wanted to collab, they chose not to communicate that at all

Most of these are things I've either experienced myself while in a collab or that I've seen happen live while watching someone else's collab; during my 6 years as a streamer! Each person is different so some of these may be okay or not okay depending on the person you are collabing with but it's always good to ask!

Communication and understanding is the key to great collaborative events! ✨
