@who7515@DeberryDenise@TheMuppetPastor There’s a lot I agree with there, but I disagree with the framing of master as something evil. The Bible says masters are to be fair, just, not threatening. Husband and master are responsibilities that again overlap. This is helpful from the Westminster larger catechism
If you think women should be able to vote, have jobs, live alone, or have unsupervised access to one another, that is because "you have normalcy bias for insane world": "You're living in an insane asylum and you think it's the normal world." https://t.co/MUg0khVoy6
I’ve seen a few marriages die in the past couple of years. The common denominator was disordered hierarchy in the family.
- The wife set the vision for the family
- The wife chose the church
- The wife decided what was good for the family
Husbands must lead; wives must submit.
@DeberryDenise@TheMuppetPastor A good husband/father is a good leader, manager, supervisor. They have overlapping skills especially pre-20th century when more households were farming and required more work and delegation to maintain.
@DeberryDenise@TheMuppetPastor I’m a supervisor for my job. It doesn’t require constant monitoring. Husbands should be engaged with their wives and children to lead them. Supervising involves direction, checking in, ensuring progress, etc.
"Men should protect women!"
Christian Simps: ❤️❤️❤️
"...by protecting them from unfettered access to social media, where they are particularly prone to transmit and become infected with social contagions and mental disorders!"
Christian Simps: 😡🤬😡
@TheMuppetPastor I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Brian is not advocating for husbands "constantly monitor ever movement." Seems like an unfair characterization of what he is trying to communicate.
Husbands have a duty to protect their wives from threats which come in a variety of way through social media, women’s Bible studies, books, friends, etc. Protecting against threats will require monitoring and awareness.
This should not be controversial.
