Why hasn't Farcaster gone mainstream?
After spending time on the platform, I think the biggest challenge isn't technology.
It's answering two simple questions:
Why should people join?
And why should they stay?
π§΅
Final takeaways (5-6/6):
The protocol is ready.
The social graph isn't.
Farcaster has great infrastructure, but genuine relationships, strong retention, and organic network effects remain the biggest challenges.
People stay for people, not protocols.
Consumer Crypto Framework #2: Farcaster
Why hasn't Farcaster become the Web3 version of X?
My view:
Social products are built on relationships, not protocols.
Infrastructure can reduce friction, but it cannot create social capital.
(1-4/6) π§΅
7/7
My conclusion:
Many Web3 social products start with:
Crypto β Protocol β Users.
Successful consumer products do the reverse:
Human needs β Product β Crypto.
Social products are social first, Web3 second.

Frames are a brilliant innovation.
But great technology still depends on user demand.
People don't ask:
"Can I mint this?"
They ask:
"Why should I pay for something I can already like or share for free?"
Hey @zora , spent weeks on the platform and wrote down some deep thoughts on why Zora is actually pricing "Information & Trust" rather than just "Content."
Would love to know if this aligns with your long-term vision for the protocol!

What Zora actually validated isn't a Content Market.
It's an Information Market.
After spending weeks using the platform, I think most people misunderstand what is really being traded on Zora.

7/7
My conclusion:
Zora hasn't proven that content can become an asset.
It has shown that identity and information are much easier to financialize.
The real challenge is still:
How can ordinary creators gain visibility and income without existing influence?
