@globaldiscuss_ That depends a lot on what we measure and what time scale we look at.
History suggests humanity often improves through crisis. But the direction depends on collective choices.
@globaldiscuss_ To what the United Nations should fix in the situation is fix the relationship within the members, take action more on the world conflict than just listening to responses, admit failure openly to its own people and fix problems together.
@globaldiscuss_ I think that the United Nations haven’t united enough to all the countries that under its own leadership because as we all see what happened in world now no solidarity at all.
Scientists just found dolphins with Alzheimer’s. Yes, dolphins. The ocean’s geniuses are literally losing their memories.
In a shocking discovery, researchers studying stranded dolphins in Scotland found something terrifying. When they looked at the dolphins’ brains under a microscope, they saw the same signs humans get with Alzheimer’s disease. The same tangled proteins. The same sticky plaques. The same slow destruction of memory and awareness.
At first, scientists thought it was a mistake. Dolphins are known for incredible intelligence. They recognize themselves in mirrors. They have names for each other. They even mourn their dead. How could a creature like that develop something so human?
Then the connection became clear. The waters they swim in are full of toxins like mercury, lead, and other pollutants that build up in their bodies over time. These chemicals damage brain cells, disrupt hormones, and can trigger degenerative diseases. Basically, we’re poisoning the oceans, and the smartest animals in them are paying the price.
Some researchers think this could also explain a haunting mystery: mass strandings. Dolphins sometimes beach themselves in groups, seemingly confused or disoriented. If their brains are being damaged by toxins, that confusion might not be random. It could be a tragic symptom.
It’s eerie to think about. Alzheimer’s used to be something we only associated with humans. Now, we’re seeing the same patterns in wild animals who live completely different lives. The line between us and the natural world just got a lot thinner.
The saddest part? Dolphins can’t tell us when they’re struggling. They just start acting differently, swimming slower, forgetting familiar routes, or following sick podmates to shore.
We always call dolphins the “brains of the sea.” But if the oceans keep getting dirtier, those brilliant minds might keep breaking down. Maybe the real test of our intelligence is whether we care enough to stop it.

I kinda have enough with the narrative saying all the characters that YoonA played are just ‘herself’ @@;;
If YoonA is more comfortable with playing within’ that range, so be it. She shows what she’s good at, and knows what people like from her. But the thing is, she always challenges herself that the characters she plays by time require more diversity & higher level of acting games.
Let’s just put YoonA’s recent character Sunji as an example, even all the director, co-actors said that character required different levels of confidence and guts, imagine having to act super insanely, not everyone could manage to pull it off without getting embarrassed and holding back themselves. And even the director himself said YoonA was very confident and he was surprised at her that she did it with hesitations and surpassed what he expected. Sunji is YoonA herself? Maybe try to watch the movie fully, and we can talk again about it. It requires an in-depth level of emotions to carry that role too, putting aside the ‘craziness’ act of Sunji which also requires insane level of daringness.
AND DON’T SKIP THE FACT that YoonA always tries her best to make her roles come to life. She always discusses with the director, co-actors and makes the character feel natural & makes the most out of it. Even if other actresses play the role, they wouldn’t be the same. Because it literally takes efforts of her to portray the characters given. She even took three months of cooking class in preparation, even the chef praised her a lot too.
And YoonA is YoonA, kinda sick how people always compare hers to other actresses… While YoonA could’ve tried more genres, but everything comes in process, everyone’s having different paces, there’s always the right timing for everything. Minyoung (unemployed, naturally funny, YouTuber), Rahee (muse, wise), Go Miho (brave, daring, Nurse), Euijoo (heaps of action scenes), Sunji (devil at night, normal at daytime but unexpected depth emotions), Cheon Sarang (positive, hardworking, hotelier), Jiyoung (chef, witty), sure they are all the same… and they’re all YoonA herself… As if all those characters don’t require the actual efforts & acting skills to be played.
