This discussion is not one that should even be had, honestly. If you can acknowledge adult-child and adult-adult sexual abuse, acknowledging cocsa should not be hard unless you do not see children as people and capable of harming other children.
Cocsa is not separate from rape. Perpetrating cocsa, whether it be one-time or repetitive abuse, makes you a rapist. Yes, it is often complicated due to both parties being children, but the perpetrator is still a rapist. Enacting sexual assault in any way makes you a rapist.
Let me remind you - if your consent cannot be given comfortably and with your full, absolute autonomy, it is rape. A partner begging and guilt tripping you, regardless of intention on their part, removes any genuine consent because then it becomes pressured. That is coercion.
Coercion is not separate from rape. Coercion describes the manipulation performed by the perpetrator to establish power. Thus, it is literally a method used for rape. It is not different. And yet, people on the timeline are trying to argue that coercion is not rape...
I wouldn't know because I don't engage with the fandom much, but Jecka is an incest victim to me. If her father wasn't obvious, I think her mother is too. The control both of her parents have over her is possessive, rids her of autonomy, and impacts her relationships with others.
i cannot believe this has to be said but utena being a “prince” or wanting to be a “prince” was NOT a GOOD THING, IT IS A ROLE THAT DIRECTLY AIDS THE PATRIARCHY. Utena was actively hurting Anthy, BECAUSE SHE WASN’T LISTENING TO HER NOR PAYING ATTENTION TO THE ABUSE 😹😹
many people’s “enjoyment” of taboo/dark topics in art is purely performative, they like the idea of being seen as controversial and anti-culture but then won’t actually engage with the subjects that are treated in a realistic manner.
"Why do you talk about incest so much?" I don't know, maybe because it is used as a punchline by everyone, especially celebrities, which contributes to the oppression we face because our abuse becomes satirical and thus fictional.
