@GingerGorman Oh gosh, the anxiety! I just love being unable to sleep due to my brain’s insistence on relating Impending Doom. And hot flushes. Screw those. Also, no HRT because I had a hormone reactive cancer.

@callapilla My three felines are also indoor pets, and I love watching them watch the birds that come into the garden. I keep a water pistol by the door to deter the bad neighbour cats that roam into my yard.

@EmilyRCWilson Although I read a couple of Odyssey translations, I never really liked the book. Until I read yours. I finished it, turned the book over, and started it again. Even bought the audiobook. I can’t wait to read your Iliad.

@hankgreen I had this! The only thing I enjoyed drinking was ginger ale, but the bubbles stung my mouth. So my husband would carefully shake and de-gas bottles for me.

@fakehistoryhunt @CatsOfYore My Dad was in the Dutch army at the time and was deployed to help. He remembers filling a lot of sand bags, and the dramas involved with the huge caissons sent over from England. He took me through the museum about the floods - fascinating stuff, and very moving.
