They say running will change you…
Not in some big dramatic way. It’s the small stuff that creeps in.
You start noticing trees and bushes for completely different reasons. Porta-potties suddenly feel like a gift. You perfect things like the snot rocket and don’t even think twice about it.
Your wardrobe slowly shifts until it’s basically all athletic wear. You get tan lines that make no sense. You spot other runners instantly, even on days you’re not running.
Then there’s the gear. Water bottles everywhere. Gels and powders stashed like you’re preparing for something serious. And somehow you’re completely fine wearing short shorts you would’ve laughed at before.
And the weirdest one…
you keep thinking you need another pair of running shoes.
Even when you absolutely don’t.
Running is tough, but running in the evening after worker? Toughest thing ever.
Tired, dodging traffic, traffic lights, cat callers, on lookers ka mo you are fighting for your life. Haikhona!

If Im racing a marathon and on track for a PB and we're 400m from the line and I see my best friend lying on the floor he must know that I love him and would do anything for him but I'll run straight past and come check on him later to make sure he's ok 🫡
I ran 2:47:27 at Boston last year.
Finished 1,786th.
That same time would have been 997th in 2024.
This year it would have been 2,434th.
Everyone is getting faster. All at once.
John Korir just won the Boston Marathon in a scorching 2:01:52, 4:39 per mile.
He runs 150 miles per week, but he makes sure there's plenty of slow miles in that training (e.g. 9:14 pace). Keep easy miles in your running program.
A lot of interesting experiences on https://t.co/s1OhS6jmil. Trying to plan out which ones I want to attend 🤔😅. For anyone still saying there’s nothing to do in Accra aside from going to restaurants @thegaderin is for you!
They are not National team mates, they’ve never played in the same club, they are not from the same continent.
Guess what could make them celebrate like this?
Mutual hate 🤣🤣
