@win_tips Yeah, impressive to defy the running order. I was never backing them at single digit odds after how the Post Office choir flopped last year. Especially as YouTube views and Facebook likes were less than impressive
If I get nothing else correct at least I correctly called Matty closing the show! He's certainly had some good treatment from #BGT
Golden buzzer for his audition
Last to perform in his semi-final
Golden buzzer in the semi-final
Last to perfrom in the final
With that in mind I'd pencil in the choir or (perhaps more likely) Matty to close the show.
Do think one of the acts performing just before them could ultimately end up the winner though.
Bad result that. The choir fall in the very small group of #BGT winners that defied the running order.
Only 1 million votes cast sounds super low though, especially when it's 5 votes per person. Really shows BGTs drop off in viewers
Very happy with the running order as a layer of Sonny and the Choir. Also sitting on Celestial/Ted and Ted/Celestial forecast at big odds which certainly looks in with a decent shot now #BGT
@win_tips I think Celestial will win and did have them as my biggest green (alongside Ted and Rafferty heading into the final).
They were never going to close the show, so being the penultimate act is the perfect spot for them. They were also topping Facebook polls comfortably this week
@superTV247 Oh I know. I just find it frustrating as a fan of magic acts that it's these ones that keep having success rather than ones that require a higher level of skill
@BigDanESC I think it's largely views from the Philippines, but hard to know exactly to what extent they're inflating the viewing figures.
He's probably got a great chance as the only solo singer in the final though.
Current YouTube views and the duration of each act's semi-final performance on #BGT
Only 2 acts exceed 3 minutes last year. This time we've got 6 that exceed 4 minutes!
Will be interesting to see who gets given less time for the final ๐ค
With that in mind I'd pencil in the choir or (perhaps more likely) Matty to close the show.
Do think one of the acts performing just before them could ultimately end up the winner though.
Performing last is statistically the best with 8 winners; however, we have seen it yield a 4th place finish in 3 of the last 4 series.
I believe this is due to longer acts (comedians, magicians, etc.) doing well whilst the show insists on closing with a short act (e.g. a singer)
With the YouTube views it's worth bearing in mind that some acts have had longer to amass views, and some will have more international appeal and a bump in views as a result.
@itsnottobs@superTV247 "Technically" no one is a solo winner as two people always win the show. In practice the girl is each couple largely drives the votes and it's fair to say Amber, Jess, and Mimii all won irrespective of the guys they were with.
@Reality_Tim@win_tips FWIW the semi-final golden buzzer acts performed 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th last year. So definitely heavily skewed towards setting them up for success.
That said Ted, Rafferty, and the choir all got golden buzzers during the auditions.
@Reality_Tim@win_tips "producers' approval" feels key to me. I've got a short list of 4 (maybe 6) acts I think can win and will be largely waiting to see the running order on the night.
I think the winner will probably come from that 2nd or 3rd to last running order spot, with Matty closing the show
