❗️ ℹ️ Neue Todeszahlen aus Gaza: Bisherige Zahlen mindestens 30% zu hoch!

Eigentlich ist es eine kleine Sensation. Trotzdem habe ich kein Medium finden können, dass diese Meldung aufgenommen hat.

▶️ Das Gesundheitsministerium im Gazastreifen, also die Hamas, hat zum ersten Mal detailliertere Todeszahlen veröffentlicht: Es hat durch den Krieg Getötete von anderen Todesarten getrennt.

▶️ Es bestätigt sich, was viele seit Beginn des Gazakrieges immer wieder erklärt haben. Die genannte Todeszahlen von derzeit 74.228 (Stand 03.10.2026; über die palästinensische Nachrichtenagentur WAFA) kann nicht stimmen.

Bisher hat die Hamas vermieden, diese Zahlen nach Todesart zu trennen. Man musste also diese mutmaßliche Gesamtzahl nehmen und die durchschnittliche Sterberate vor dem Krieg abziehen, um halbwegs zuverlässige Schätzungen zu erhalten.
Die Mühe hat sich aber niemand gemacht, weder die Medien noch NGOs.

Man kann nur mutmaßen, warum die Hamas das nun getan hat. Eine Möglichkeit wäre, dass Druck durch die UN ausgeübt wurde, weil dort wiederum Druck durch NGOs oder Mitgliedsstaaten ausgeübt wurde.

▶️ Die aktuellen Zahlen beziehen sich auf das Jahr 2025, es handelt sich um einen jährlichen Bericht. (Annual Report – Mortality in Gaza Strip, 2026)

▶️ Die Gesamtzahl der verstorbenen und Getöteten für das Jahr 2025 wird mit 24.650 angegeben.

▶️ Bei der Trennung nach Geschlechtern fällt sofort eine weitere Kennzahl auf:
73.4% der Verstorbenen oder Getöteten waren männlich, nur 26.6% weiblich.
Da das Verhältnis in der Bevölkerung etwa 50/50 ist, gibt es hier also eine signifikante Häufung.

▶️ Ein weiterer Hinweis ist geradezu erschütternd: 52,2% der Getöteten oder Verstorbenen waren zwischen 15 und 44.
Obwohl diese Gruppe in der Gesamtbevölkerung nur 45,9% beträgt (Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics) und diese Gruppe nicht dazu neigt, spontan tot umzufallen. Kleine Kinder und Alte sterben in jeder Gesellschaft weit häufiger.

🔴 In den Gründen des Ablebens gehen laut Hamas 70,1% auf „Kriegsgründe“ zurück. Das wären also 17.280.

▶️ Weitere 6.4% (1.577) werden als „Unfälle“ geführt. Das ist eine enorm hohe Zahl. (EU 2022: 3,4%)
Die Hamas hat angedeutet, diese seien u.a. durch Verkehrsunfälle begründet, aber nicht genauer definiert. Denkbar wäre auch, dass dort die Kombattanten und Zivilisten eingerechnet wurden, die Opfer eigener Querschläger, Raketen oder Sprengfallen wurden.

Die wichtigen Kennziffern sind konstant. Sowohl die Todesrate insgesamt vor dem Krieg, als auch die während des Kriegs getöteten im Jahr 2024 und der jetzt angegebenen Differenz für 2026.
Die prognostizierten Zahlen, welche die durchschnittlichen „natürlichen“ Sterbefälle rausgerechnet haben, kamen recht genau auf das gleiche Ergebnis:

🔴 Legt man diese Zahlen auf die drei Jahre Krieg um, kommt man auf 52.033. Nicht 74.228.

▶️ Die Zahl der getöteten Kombattanten, die man trotzdem nur schätzen kann, bleibt jedoch gleich.
Israel schätzt, etwa 20.000 Kombattanten getötet zu haben. Mitte 2025 hatte der Militär-Geheimdienst Aman mindestens 8900 bereits eindeutig identifiziert und einer Organisation zugewiesen. (Hamas, PIJ, PFLP, etc.)

🔴 Die Zahlen sind insgesamt also etwa 30% zu hoch angesetzt.

🔴 Das Verhältnis von getöteten Zivilisten zu Kombattanten wird dadurch signifikant verschoben.

Three years ago, Michael, who was 9, and Amalia, who was 6, called the police from the safe room in their home in Kfar Aza. Their parents, Roi and Smadar Idan, had just been murdered. The children told the dispatcher where they were, and then said it over and over: our parents are dead.

They went back to hiding in the closet. Help didn't reach them until 19:20 that evening. Their little sister Avigail, who was 3, had been taken to Gaza. She came home after 51 days.

This recording was played for the first time tonight at the opening of "The Space That Remains" at the Peres Center in Jaffa, an exhibit put together by the October Council.

This was incredibly hard to listen to, but I think we owe it to them to hear it anyway.

Gaza Ministry of Health has now released mortality numbers for 2025. For the first time since the war, they give numbers for all deaths, including natural deaths.

In 2025 there were a total of 24,650 deaths in Gaza. 18,870 (76.6%) of these were violent, of which 17,286 (70.1%) were due to "war operations" and 1,584 (6.4%) were classified as accidents. There were a total of 5,780 (23.4%) non-violent deaths, including disease, old age, and all other causes.

5,780 deaths is about the same as the annual non-violent mortality in Gaza before the war, and the age distribution is similar to 2022. There is no significant excess of non-violent deaths.

In other words, despite frequent and loud claims to the contrary, there seems to be very few indirect deaths due to the war in Gaza in 2025.

As there were 50,227 births in 2025, this gives a natural population growth of 25,577 or 1.2% in Gaza in 2025, which is higher population growth than most countries in the world and more than the world average.

There are currently ~6,000 births/month in Gaza, per GMH. Assuming a similar number of non-violent deaths in Gaza in 2026 as in 2025, that means there are currently 12x more births than deaths in Gaza, and that Gaza is now experiencing one of the highest population growths in the world.

The “Nakba” story dies on this primary source leaflet dated April 28, 1948.

The Haifa Workers Council and the Histadrut printed it and told the city’s Arabs not to leave.

“Do not destroy your homes with your own hands ... The gates are open for work, for life, and for peace, for you and your families.”

That week, British police in Haifa had reported the same thing. Jews were trying to keep shops open and to guarantee Arab lives and property. Ben-Gurion sent Golda Meir to say it to Haifa’s Arab residents face-to-face. Tens of thousands of them left anyway.

“Nakba” first named the Arab failure to destroy the Jewish state. Later it was rebranded as a Jewish expulsion order. Look to Haifa and test that theory. There was no order to get out. There was a printed appeal to stay in multiple languages.

The Arab Higher Committee called anyone who remained under Jewish protection a “renegade.” Its chairman, Jamal Husseini, told the Security Council the Arabs “preferred to abandon their homes, their belongings, and everything they possessed in the world and leave the town.”

Most of Haifa’s 62,000 Arab residents walked out. A few thousand stayed. They became citizens of the new state, and today their grandchildren vote in Israel.

The expulsion story requires this page not to exist.
