@BobEUnlimited It's certainly not unfathomable that the fed will flinch at the sight of poor economic data. Despite this, I still tend to think they've seen the lessons from the historical record and will realize that letting up too early is far more damaging than staying higher for longer

Next comes the erosion of the American consumer which we've already started to see via rising credit card debt. Earnings will be impacted as well. Don't trust those that say the forward multiples on stocks are a buying opportunity. The earnings they are based on are pure fantasy.

Seems highly likely that the delay between hiking interest rates and feeling their full effects will cause the fed to raise rates far higher than what's needed to get inflation under control.

@JaneMJTH Interest rates will stay elevated likely all through making housing completely unaffordable and crushing demand. Price increases included the same house likely costs double the monthly payment it did only a year ago. You can short the housing market through an inverse reit etf
