Important update on Ready Cards.
Our card issuer is winding down and can no longer support the card program. We were given no notice, so if you were relying on the card today, you found out at roughly the same time we did. We are sorry for this; it’s not the experience we strive for.
Eligible card subscriptions will be refunded automatically.
Ready has always been self-custodial, so your assets sit in your own wallet under your own control.
We’re hyper-focused on building the next chapter of Ready on new infrastructure designed for greater reliability and long-term scale. It will enable an exciting new direction for Ready. We’ll share more on this very soon!

Who's in?
I "Stepped Down" as Head of Ecosystem at StarkWare, But I'm Not Fucking Leaving Starknet.
Earlier today I announced I was stepping down as Head of Ecosystem.
Messages flooded in. People assumed the worst: Abdel is out, leaving StarkWare, abandoning Starknet.
They got it wrong.
I'm not leaving StarkWare. Not even close.
I'm shifting roles to something that hits closer to the core of why I wake up every day.
My new title: Head of Freedom Tech.
My focus: weaponize ZK-STARKs to build tools that hand sovereignty back to individuals. Privacy that can't be stripped away. Money that can't be frozen. Identity that can't be tracked. Speech that can't be silenced.
Back to the roots.
Starknet will be the execution layer where verifiable computation scales to billions. Where math enforces integrity without trusting anyone. Where Bitcoin's promise finally escapes its own chains and becomes universal.
Because Bitcoin showed the world that code can route around institutions. But code needs more than conviction to survive. It needs an economy that pays for itself, incentives that align builders with users, infrastructure that power can't starve.
ZK is the missing primitive. Proofs that convince without revealing. Computation that anyone can verify, yet no one can fake.
This is how we flip the asymmetry.
Thirty years ago, a handful of visionaries saw this coming.
In 1993, Eric Hughes wrote that privacy is necessary for an open society in the electronic age. He warned we couldn't expect governments or corporations to grant us privacy out of kindness. It profits them to watch us. So we must defend it ourselves, with cryptography, with anonymous systems, with code we write and release into the wild.
He was right.
In 1988, Timothy May declared a specter haunting the modern world: crypto anarchy. He predicted strong encryption would make interactions untraceable, shatter government monopolies on money and information, create markets beyond control. States would fight it, citing drugs and terror. But the tech would spread anyway, unstoppable, like printing once dismantled guilds and hierarchies.
He was right too.
They both saw the surveillance age arrive long before it did. They watched the trends and called the shot: without mathematical privacy, dissent dies. Without dissent, freedom dies.
Look around now. Half the planet already lives under open tyranny. The rest live under the illusion they don't, yet. Speech chilled in Europe. Money debased everywhere. Banks that aren't yours. Transactions watched by default. Every excuse recycled from the old playbook: fighting crime, protecting you from yourself.
The Four Horsemen ride again.
But the cypherpunks didn't just diagnose. They prescribed action.
They wrote code.
They built the foundations we stand on today.
And their warnings weren't cries of despair. They were calls to arms.
We continue that fight.
Freedom Tech is the generalization. Bitcoin for money. Nostr for speech. ZK for integrity and privacy at scale. Zcash for privacy, Ethereum for unstoppable world computer. Tor, Signal, mesh networks for transport, etc. Plenty of freedom tech primitives. All permissionless. All open source. All resilient.
StarkWare builds the most powerful ZK engine on Earth. Starknet deploys it where it matters most: scaling sovereignty for everyone.
My job now is to direct that power toward the front lines. Toward tools that let you prove without exposing. Transact without asking. Exist without registering.
Toward a world where opacity to power is the default, and transparency belongs only to those you choose.
In a few weeks I'll release the full Freedom Go Up Manifesto and more about the mission and projects.
We don't protest the cages. We build the exit.
We write code as if our future depends on it.
Because it does.
Freedom Go Up.
