BREAKING NEWS:
End of an Era For Generations
After over 30 years occupying the sought-after primetime slot of 8PM on SABC1, Mfundi Vundla will be losing the slot.
Generations The Legacy will be moving from being aired weeknights at 8PM to switching with Uzalo and taking the 8:30PM slot.
Uzalo continues to be South Africa's most watched show with a comfortable median 4-million per episode viewers pull.
Generations The Legacy has been number 2 for a while, though there have been times when Skeem Saam beat it. But, statistically Gen firmly holds the second spot.
While the glory days of 7 to 10 million viewers peak episodes are over, SABC1 still enjoys a relatively large pull of TV viewers in Mzansi. Their soapies play around the 3 to 6 million viewers bracket — and that's nothing to scoff at given the abundance of choice for viewers these days.
