The genocide in Sudan has 3 times the death toll of Gaza and it's not only radio silence from the "anti-genocide" crowd... it's, "don't talk about the deaths of black children because it distracts from Gaza" from the far-left.
Disgusting. Fake. Fraudulent. Larpers. All of them.
In theory, I support the death penalty for rapists and pedophiles. In practice, I don't trust the government with that sort of power especially when you know Black people and minorities will be targeted.
we are too quick to mourn the doors that close on us but we rarely consider what they might’ve closed us off from.. the more i grow through life, the more i understand that not every missed opportunity is a mistake. sometimes, it’s a protection that we’ll never be able to prove.
One thing I’ve always believed is your family should get the best version of you. If you can be kind and emotionally-regulated at that job, your ass better be able to do it at home too.
I should never have to take the brunt of your worst. That is NOT love.
So they took away our sd cards, our memory sticks, and then started charging us for memory to store our data. Then they started taking away our vhs and our dvds and they started charging us to stream movies. So freeing to realize you don’t actually need to solve someone’s inner life to decide what their behavior means for you. Maybe they love you deeply & are still too dysregulated, avoidant, selfish, overwhelmed, whatever to treat you well. You can believe that and still leave
Btw "systemic racism" doesn't mean "lots of racists in the system". It means that even if there were *zero* "racists" present, the system would still disproportionately harm people of certain races. It's baffling that lots of educated folks don't understand this concept.
Become someone who wastes nothing. A bad job gives you skills. A difficult person teaches you boundaries. A failed idea gives you better judgement. A random conversation gives you a new perspective. A painful year can completely change what you value. You don't need everything that happens to you to be good. The bad often teaches you to appreciate the good. Be
grateful for what goes right, learn from what goes wrong, and remember that one day the
experiences you struggled through will become the wisdom you live by.
your relationship with yourself cannot be built entirely around improvement. at some point, you have to become someone you are allowed to enjoy being. you get to be proud of who you are. present tense
Highkey, we need less introspection and more giving a fuck about others. People need to get over themselves. We are not the first people on earth to be tired, sad, or unfulfilled, but other people did the work and showed up. Be there tired, be there sad, be there broke, BE THERE.
